"Chris, plumbing technician, was excellent. Came as scheduled, spent about and hour. Thorough job, demonstrated that it was done properly, double-checked draining and connections for me to see without complaint after I asked him to. Neat, clean, friendly. I would give an A+ on service. Price of $274 seems too high, per Angie's list guidelines. Service was basic kitchen sink drain clearage, including use of 35-foot snake. Elsewhere on Angie's site I read: "Cost to snake a drain Manny Vega, president and owner of All Drain Services in Dracut, Massachusetts, says his company charges a flat-rate fee to snake drains. They charge $195 for kitchen sinks and $170 for bathroom sinks and tubs. While price varies depending on the market and the severity of the clog, Young from Legacy Plumbing says the average cost to clear a tub, kitchen or bathroom drain runs $109 to $214. Removing a clog from a laundry drain costs between $151 to $214, and remedying a toilet clog ranges from $109 to $273. All jobs include a $50 service fee.""

"Tom took the time to contact me before the job to gather information on the parts needed and to ensure that we would be prepared. He did a great job and in a short amount of time! Unfortunately the work required doubled due to our drain being clogged, but he took care of that as well within a reasonable time."

"Valued and respected my needs and budget with an educated, yet no-pressure sales approach. Installation was available next day, and honored my schedule availability without issue. Installation team were phenomenal! Respected my property, cared for their own cleanliness of workspace, and provided hands-on training of my equipment, control devices, and maintenance. Exceptional service in every respect!"
Logan A/C & Heat Services offered value, competitive pricing, top of the line Trane equipment, nice financing options that other companies did not offer. Dan was my sales rep that offered the above services. Bobby was the installer & was professional & did a great job. Install was scheduled on a Monday after I committed on a Friday; so very quick! "We had them replace a pair of 20 year old hot water tanks with a tankless system. They didn't nickle and dime us on every piece of pipe and installed a quality system. The technician left the work area super clean and neat. A great experience and I will hire them again."

"We've got an early 80's Zicka 4 BR house. Turns out the foundation drainage wasn't done properly when the house was built...our sump pump only drained ~1/4 of the basement because water doesn't flow uphill. Everdry jack-hammered the inside perimeter of the basement, replaced the drain system, installed a Cadillac-grade sump pump, trenched around the outside of the foundation, installed plastic sheeting & french drains. I've never seen a crew work like them. Wasn't cheap, but the job definitely wasn't easy. I hope Ian the crewleader runs for president."

"Two Archer Plumbing plumbers came to my house to unclog a drain in my basement that used to be a toilet, but was now capped off. The cap had shot off because of a clog underground. The men that came called me when they were on their way, and then unclogged the drain by using one of their snake machines. They were both friendly and good natured guys. I had no problems and was satisfied by the end result. They even checked to make sure the clog was gone by running the machine again, and using a bucket to pour water down into the drain. Great work!

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use hydrogen peroxide to unclog a drain. Instead of using a baking soda and vinegar solution, you can use baking soda with hydrogen peroxide. The process to unclog a drain is the same as with vinegar, but use 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide instead.

A washing machine should drain the water used during its cycle through a drainpipe and out through the house’s plumbing. This is the same plumbing that sinks and shower drains run to, and if the U-bend is installed correctly, it shouldn’t smell. The total drainage from the house is then integrated into the city sewer system or, if you’re in the country, dispersed into a septic tank.

If your washing machine drain is clogged, that isn’t a good sign. Unlike toilet drains or kitchen sink drains, there isn’t matter that is easily broken up with a plumbing snake, and more care is required. If you’re in an old house or have mineral-rich water, there could be a buildup inside the pipe. Either way, if the blockage isn’t obvious and doesn’t dislodge with a snake, you need to call a pro—otherwise, you risk damaging integral plumbing.

Plumbers use a variety of tools to help unclog the toughest of drain clogs, but the most common tools they use are drain snakes and augers. They try a plunger or drain snake to start, then move to heavy-duty augers, and finally try using a hydro jetter to blast away the clog with high-pressure water. Hiring a plumber to unclog a drain costs $125 to $300, largely depending on the extent and location of the clog and which of these methods is best for clearing it.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.
