"Caserta Painting is one of the best in town! Several years ago they painted my kitchen cabinets in a faux type finish and it has withstood heavy use and frequent cleaning. They also painted doors in a faux wood finish.  Recently they painted woodwork in my living room. They are happy to use oil paint, match colors or create new color. Ron is as talented as Mr. Caserta. They are truly artists, neat, clean and professional. I highly recommend this company.

"Arrived right when expected (and even called first), and did the work in a little over an hour. He worked quite hard, and even was able to get out some dark graphite stains left on a light colored carpet by a recliner. The agreement was that heavy furniture wouldn't be moved, which I understood in advance, but he did get under a sofa and some chairs for me. Once the carpet was dried, there was a newly spotted area that appeared to be a deposit of the solution that hadn't been pulled out. I took pictures and sent an e-mail one evening asking for it to be fixed, and received a phone call bright and early the next morning, setting up a time to take care of it."

"I work for a major signage company. I continue to have an amazing experience with this Chris/CAMS Lighting and Signs. The customer service was outstanding, and the product was exactly what our customer was looking for. Time and time again we use CAMS for our Signage Services. Defiantly will continue to hire for future jobs."

I bought a coupon for wallpaper removal in my kitchen.  The actual cost was more than the coupon (which I expected) and the additional cost to get the walls into condition for paint was more than I expected.

I preface this whole review with the fact that they had to work around a weird schedule as I travel for work and was only home on Fridays.  They said they could accommodate that.  While the work they did was

of good quality I was frustrated with the lack of communication around the schedule.  Often I was told a worker would come and they didn't.  Ocassionally they didn't call to say so.  I would often have to call them, got voice mail and dint know if I needed to stay home or not.

I had a couple issues with the quality.  The walls looked great but they missed a section and had to come back. They also were kind of sloppy with the mudding and left globs of hardened plaster on my outlets and light switches. In addition, after the snow melted in my yard I found a big glob of plaster on the grass where they had scraped out their tray into the snow bank next to my driveway.  I was also disappointed they didn't wipe down the walls after sanding.

So if you're a stickler for scheduling they might not be the best fit for you. Otherwise the work was good.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Durations range from an hour for simple jobs to full workdays for significant upgrades.

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

  • Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture

  • String lights: $50–$150

  • Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture

  • Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture

  • Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture

  • Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture

  • Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post
