"I hired Following Steps Landscapers to build a new fence in my backyard, as well as to remove very old chain link and privacy fencing already in place. Once I contacted the owner, Angel, he was able to visit my property and supply an estimate within the week. Work began the following week. Very old fencing was removed and replaced with approximately 225 feet of pressure treated wood privacy fencing. The fencing included two gates: one in front and one in the rear of the property.  One side of the property proved problematic in that it included two old fences parallel to each other containing many old tree stumps as well as weeds and vines. Angel's crew removed everything to install a beautiful fence. The other side of my property contains a very large mulberry tree that sits directly on the property line shared with my neighbor. Angel's crew was able to split the fence to accommodate the tree. My neighbor said the crew was very nice to him when he was giving instructions as to where the property line sat. The crew also removed a large pine tree in the front yard that was planted too close to the house. Work was completed in a week. I was so pleased that the crew, who was very pleasant, also trimmed all of my bushes and cleaned the existing flower beds!  Everything was well prepared for me to begin new plantings in the spring. I was extremely happy with Following Steps work and, if need be, will hire them again.

"I purchased a Big Deal for fence maintenance.  Skip responded through Angie's List the next day and got me scheduled within a couple weeks.  I was surprised that he was available to work on Sunday, saved me from taking time off work!  Skip was running late the day of our appointment and gave me a call to let me know he had to finish up another job and would be late.  I appreciated that he thought to call before our scheduled appointment to let me know.  He showed up and talked to us about what he could do to repair our gate that was difficult to open.  I also showed him an area of the fence that had really started to deteriorate since the deal also included replacing up to 6 pickets.  He got to work on the gate and had it repaired and working better then ever!  The section of fence that was really bad was going to need more repair then the Big Deal covered.  He gave us a price and said he could finish it up next weekend.  We would definitely use Skip again!

"This turned out well. It was supposed to be done last fall, but due to the weather, he postponed it. He kept in contact with us and came out in the spring, which is exactly what he said he would do. "They responded quickly to my request for an estimate.  The actual work started a week later.   Only one worker did all the work.  It took him 3 days to power wash both sides of the wooden fence, then one day to stain it and do the concrete work.   He was very meticulous and cleaned up after himself.   The fence looks beautiful--like a totally different fence.   Before he started, it was all grey and mildew, now it's a pretty reddish-brown cedar color.   The price was probably more than I could have paid if I'd been patient and gotten more estimates, but I'm so happy with the result that I don't really mind.

"This was a complicated job. We had a small pond installed by a local landscaper about 2 years ago, which turned out to be a nightmare--poorly conceived and leaking so much that we had to refill it daily. We wanted a pond expert to assess what could be done. Jake was extremely knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem, and offered two options to address the situation: repair the existing pond or tear it out and start from scratch. We decided to go with the second (more expensive) option in order to achieve a better functioning, easier-to-maintain pond. Jake listened to what we wanted and worked with us on the design, even making a significant change at our request mid-installation. Because of the complication of this job (removing existing pond, relocating pavers, and working around irrigation system), we hit a few snags along the way, but Jake was great in resolving all issues that arose and the final product is outstanding. We love our pond and would recommend Jake highly."
