deck started on Wednesday and finished on Friday
Bill came out and looked at the damaged areas. He agreed to send out a worker to do it "right." now it is June...still trying to get it fixed. Bill sets up a time but then cancels claiming that his company is going on a sabbatical. Finally...June 21 and a guy comes out. He has a brand new power washer. He washes the areas down to remove the peeling product. He says he will use a wire brush too but never did. He starts rolling it on but later starts pouring the product on the pavement and spreading it. He leaves the next day saying he is done but ran out of product. What a disaster!!!!! Uneven color, no edging done, product is krackling everywhere, he did not sand the filled in areas so it is very rough.
Bill came out again and agreed that the job was shabby. In the end, he sent out a fourth guy who finally knew how to apply the product and fix the problems. It was just finished yesterday. The pavement looks good. However, the third guy sent out got the product on our pool edging and it will not come off. We will have to live with that one but overall, we are relieved that Bill worked with us in the end and got the situation resolved.
A few months later as I became more serious about building the fence, I called again. THe owner of the company came out and gave me an estimate. At that time, they were courteous and professional. I really liike the company and learned that I might hire Ultimate concepts to do other projects for me. Unfortunately, his fence quote was too expensive for me.
I did hire the company solve a problem that I had in the basement. My floor was not level and the owner of the company had an idea of building me a base to put my washer and dryer on. He sent his handyman whom they call Munch. Munch was courteous and friendly. I enjoyed working with him. THe experience went well. I would consider calling them again for other projexts.
As far as the Deck goes, we are tearing it down. The deck is clearly slanted back towards to the house (You can see it by looking at it), which causes rain water to drain toward the foundation. The craftsmanship of the deck is subpar. The step that goes from the deck to the ground isn't attached very well to the structure of the deck. When you step down on it the whole step moves. It was toe nailed to the frame.
As far as the fence goes, the crew came out and dug all the holes, only to figure out they dug the holes in the wrong spots. Now we have holes in our yard that were never filled in. The quality of the fence isn't bad. The subcontractors did come out and replace the hinge on the gate. I just contacted them directly to do that.
It became apparent to me that Ultimate Concepts has a business model that uses high pressure sales to get people to commit. They have a bunch of subcontractors they contract to do jobs and call them their employees while they are contracted. Even the contractors they hired were talking bad about the company.
Some of our other neighbors have used them and feel the same way about the company as we do.
