Gave us a quote and was paid $7,800 in October 2022 had excuses that we thought were legit and he stayed in contact till March 2023 when he was supposed to show up to start the jobs. Stopped answering calls and text from my husband and myself. He took our money and ran and is posting on social media him out at the bar. Sad you can't trust people anymore. "The rooms Mark and his grandson completed for us look AMAZING! I met with James for the quote initially and he was very kind and courteous, explained how the project would be approached and answered all of my many questions. We had just moved into the home the weekend after prep/demo work was completed and Mark and his grandson were very communicative and conscientious about what work would be taking place that day and cleaning up at the end of each day, which we greatly appreciated as we were living and working remotely downstairs while they primarily worked upstairs. I greatly appreciated how knowledgable, skillful, and personable everyone from Rubber City Drywall was - it is a great family-owned business and we hope to hire them again soon!"

No payment until job is complete. No sub-contracting, we do all our own work. Always free estimates.1-3 employees

"Our complaint is much like the prior complaint of 2017. Apparently he is still conducting business in the same manor. Rob Cook, reported to the job sporadically citing many excuses (which were outlandish) why he was not able to work. Suffice it to say, he did not finish the job after being paid and would not return calls or text messages. If we had seen all the negative feedback on him, we never would have hired him. Today personal integrity, moral and ethical relationships are the cornerstones of business. It pays in good will for the short term and earns dividends in the long term in the form of solid, mutually rewarding relationships and referrals. In the law of Karma, he is responsible for his own life and how he treats other people. We do however wonder if he likes the man looking back at him in the mirror each morning."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

Wondering who to call for ceiling repair? While you can hire a handyperson to fix minor cracks, you’ll want to hire a drywall professional for larger issues. Depending on the cause of the crack, you may need to hire other contractors, such as a foundation contractor, mold remediation company, roofer, or plumber near you.

Only use spackle on plaster walls when the imperfection is small. It’s best used for nail holes or small dings in the plaster. Spackle dries quickly, allowing you to continue the repair process shortly after using it. Plaster can be tricky to repair, though, so if you run into issues, call a pro so that you don’t risk further damage.

Plaster can be a difficult DIY to master, especially if you plan to plaster an entire room, rather than patch a small area. Before you begin a plaster DIY project, you need to know which tools and type of plaster to use. It's also important to know how to prepare the surface and apply the plaster for a smooth finish. If that all sounds like a lot of work, you may prefer hiring a local plaster repair contractor to do the job.

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

Plaster walls last 30 to 70 years, although expertly applied and well-maintained plaster can last for centuries. That’s why it’s important to leave plaster installation to a pro, treat cracks as needed, and have a pro inspect any concerning cracks as soon as possible. These efforts can greatly extend the life of your plaster walls for decades to come.
