"Jeff at Feldhaus Construction was HIGHLY recommended to us by three friends. We dove into our our complete bathroom remodel, as we wanted the garden tub and tiny shower removed to replace with a very large, tiled shower. It involved a complete tear out, moving of plumbing, then installing our new beautiful tile, half wall, plumbing and paint/finishing. Everything turned out beautifully! We highly recommend Jeff / Feldhaus."

"I called for some various home repairs, but once a leak was discovered in the flooring, Joe and his team agreed to complete a fast turn bathroom remodel. He was thorough, attentive to detail, and incredibly communicative. The quality of the work was really good across the board. He was always on time and was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process, making recommendations and problem solving on the fly, even responding late nights and weekends. He was gracious with issues that arose throughout the project and Dedicated to making sure things happened just the way I wanted. He took the additional time to do things the right way and make sure everything would be easier to address if future issues arise. He and the team were amazing with my three dogs and cared for my house the way I would, ensuring things were cleaned up each day. I’m thrilled with the results and highly recommend this team for any project."

"Justin does amazing work! Prior to completing anything, he thoroughly inspected my home and asked lots of questions. Justin also provided detailed information about recommendations to amend my plumbing issues. His team came out to complete a larger project. They were prompt, professional and kept me informed of what was happening during their time on the project. I will continue hiring Justin for future work on my home. He provides high quality work at an affordable price. Highly recommend Justin and his team!"

"We had this work done about 3 years ago. We had a leak in our basement since we move into our house in 1984! Wish we had had Everdry fix the leak years ago! We would highly recommend this great company!"

"Devon got the job done very efficiently. The toilet flange was broken, and he went and found the parts he needed to do the job right! He did not hurry, and I was very happy with the results. Very reasonably priced and affordable compared to the "big guys". I highly recommend Devon Froehle!"

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

While asbestos can’t be directly absorbed through the skin—the fibers are too big—skin contact can still produce symptoms. Contact dermatitis can flare up in sensitive individuals but in most cases, the danger from asbestos comes from inhaling the fibers, or dust, that is produced when asbestos is disturbed. If you touch asbestos by accident, immediately wash yourself and your clothes.

Federal law doesn’t require homeowners to disclose the presence of asbestos in their home, but some states and local municipalities may require it. That is why it’s important to test an older home for asbestos and other health hazards before moving forward with a sale.

Since DIY asbestos removal isn’t the best option to save money, there are other steps that you can take to help cut costs when dealing with this project. After speaking with your asbestos removal expert, discuss if encapsulation is an option. If it is, you can save between 15% to 25% on overall project costs over demolition and disposal. In addition, when speaking with your professional, discuss if there are any tax credits available for your removal project. Finally, check with your homeowner’s insurance to see if any removal costs might be covered. However, be aware that this is usually only applicable if the asbestos is due to a covered incident, like a tree falling into your roof.

Asbestos can be found in many building materials, especially if the materials were installed more than 20 years ago. Asbestos-containing materials (ACM) can include:

  • Acoustic ceiling tiles

  • Furnace insulation

  • Home appliances

  • Fire-retardant clothing

  • Cement pipe

  • Pipe insulation

  • Wall and ceiling insulation

  • Vehicle brake pads

  • Vinyl flooring

  • Sprayed acoustic ceilings

  • Stove insulation

  • Patching compounds

  • Textured paints

  • Roofing shingles

  • Siding

Damaged tiles can release asbestos fibers into the air. Anyone in the surrounding area who may inhale the fibers will have them settled in the lining of internal organs. Over time, it may lead to serious health conditions such as lung cancer and mesothelioma.

The only safe way to prevent these conditions is to avoid exposure to asbestos at all costs, even for a short period of time.
