"Mr. Wells and his staff worked with us very closely to ensure that we have the equipment that we needed at a price that we could afford.  They provided options for our furnace, answered all types of questions, and guide us to a furnace that will not only address our immediate needs but that has the attributes that will give us a worry-free operation for another 20 years.  The installers were meticulous, enterprising, and hard workers.  They arrived on time and departed only after the unit was operating as advertised.  In addition, this furnace came with a three years maintenance agreement so twice a year Wells will stop by our home to check and tune-up our unit.
Bottom line:  The customer service, furnace attributes, employees, warranty, service after the purchase, and price made this purchase a winning one!

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

"Handyman Matters did a great job of repairing very large hole in finished basement drywall including painting to match existing color.  Also installed vanity / sink / light fixture / mirror / baseboard / towel racks in bathroom plus painting the room.  Looks great, price was reasonable, and quality of work was very high.  The company was very efficient in producing quotes and meeting the promised schedule.

"I initially called A-1 Plumbing since it was one of the three companies Angie's List referred. When I called A-1, the person on the other end told me that he knew someone that was an expert and could do the job. Within 5 minutes, JD called me. I told him that I needed to install a PRV. I asked when he could do it and how much it would cost. He first said $365. I told him I had an estimate for $195 within the next few days or $209 from another company. I said I would pay $200. So he agreed. While installing it, I asked him what the water pressure would be set at. He said 80 psi. After he completed the work, he asked me to see if the water pressure was okay. At the time, the water pressure looked good in the basement, but later in the day, it was clear that the shower water pressure and the kitchen sink was extremely low. A few days later, I looked the PRV part up and noted that the pressure is preset to 55 psi. After calling one of the plumbers who I should have hired, I knew what I needed to do to adjust the pressure. Two days after the installation, I bought a water pressure gauge and was able to adjust the water pressure to 70 psi. Bottom line, JD should have known what the PRV factory preset psi was. He should have provided me with any instructions that the part contained. He should have checked the pressure before leaving the job and set it to the Green County Water Company's recommended pressure of 70 psi. Positives: JD provided immediate service. He put in a high quality part. He agreed to my price for the work without much discussion. Negatives: JD didn't know that the part was set at 55 psi. He didn't check the water pressure before leaving the job. I had to purchase a water pressure gauge and make the adjustment to the pressure myself."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Kitchen plumbing repairs range from simple to complex, with the costs reflecting that variety. Some repairs require a new part, while others call for replacing an entire appliance. For example, some of the most common kitchen plumbing repairs include:

  • Dishwasher: $75–$600

  • Garbage disposal: $75–$400

  • Ice maker water line: $100–$200

  • Kitchen sink clog: $100–$400

  • P-trap repair: $200–$325

Yes, if you live in a climate with extended periods of frost or snow, it’s best to winterize the sink and avoid potential bursting. Similar to winterizing a garden hose, turn off your water from the source. Once turned off, open the faucet so the remaining water completely drains out. You can also pour a small amount of antifreeze down the sink drain so any trapped water won’t freeze.

Pedestal sinks are bolted or screwed into the floor and the wall to prevent it from moving out of place. You may have to change or add to the bathroom flooring when installing a pedestal sink if the flooring was laid around the previous sink, not under it.

There’s no definitive answer regarding whether equipping your kitchen island with a stove or sink is better. The right option depends on each homeowner's lifestyle, cooking style, and kitchen layout. If you cook with guests over, having a stove that faces outward can facilitate socialization while you prepare dinner. On the other hand, if you use a lot of produce, having your sink by your prep area makes it easier to clean veggies while cooking. A sink also makes cleanup easier by allowing you to wipe down your prep area and place your dirty dishes in the sink.

Expect your stainless steel sink to last between 20 and 30 years on average. When well cared for, you can use your sink much longer, particularly if you protect it from rust. A new stainless steel sink costs anywhere from $200 to $1,500 including installation, so it's in your best interest to take extra care to ensure its longevity.
