"A Professional contacted me via text from Angi about the job. I shared pictures of the house and proposed work via text and we discussed the price and start date. Reached out to the painter 2 days before to discuss colors, but was not ready to start on the proposed start date. Started 2 days late. Discussed 2 paint colors on the day and the painter said they could not complete the work as originally discussed due to detail on the trim. Did not set up to contain old pain chipped away from trim all around the house. Paint chips were left on the porch patio and in the yard. Discussed clean-up expectations with workmen present but unsure of understanding of the request. Painters were not very respectful of our yard and even poured pain in my flower beds where I grow vegetables etc. After the job conclusion paint chips were not completely cleaned up and are still out I'm my yard. I have tested chips and they contain lead. I have contacted the contractor and they are supposed to come to clean up on 12/6. If the yard is contaminated with pain after clean up I may seek additional compensation to cover any remediation needed."

"If I could give more stars, I would. I had hired a different company to paint my gray house to a creamy white. It took them 4 weeks. I noticed they were cutting corners but they assured me they knew what they were doing. Fast forward 4 months later, paint starts to literally fall off. Rotted wood was painted over and not replaced. A neighbor recommended Wulfhorst Painting and Remodeling and I'm grateful they did. Brad and his team fixed their sloppy work and it looks absolutely amazing. And they had to start from scratch, pressure washing, removing peeling paint, and replacing rotten siding. It took them one week and I couldn't be happier. "I hired Pierson Professional Painting to paint the trim around my house. This included 4 wooden gables and four back entry doors. The house has some high areas to paint and they used a lift to reach these areas. This included a chimney. I appreciated this because I am concerned about safety. High quality Sherwin Williams paint was used. The paint job was excellent. Pierson Professional Painters also have the skill to repair problems that were found during painting. They replaced a rotten soffit and some missing shingle molding. They added a piece of missing flashing. Some caulking joints were also removed and replaced. I would hire these painters again. They also cleaned the property before leaving. Good value for the price. I was also given some useful advice regarding my gutters."

Exterior painting services FAQs
You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. For a more accurate estimate, subtract the square footage of the windows and doors from the initial square footage total. It’s a good idea to plan for an extra gallon of paint to make sure you have enough to finish the job.
To calculate the square footage of a home exterior, painters multiply the length of the wall by the height of the wall to be painted. Then they add the total square footage for all of the walls to be painted. To calculate the price, they multiply the total square footage by their cost per square foot to prep and paint. Additional costs may factor in such as repairs, additional trim, and walls higher than the first story.
The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
You should apply at least two coats of paint when painting the exterior of your house. Two coats of paint provides better durability and more even coverage than just one coat.
