"My project was to completely upgrade an older bathroom which had not been remodeled since the mid-70's. The bathroom had no tile in it. Just the basics with a fiberglass shower, vinyl flooring, and drywall. There was some water damage to the lower drywall in a few places. Nathan worked with me in providing some options including making the shower larger. He constructed a new shower completely of tile to ceiling height. Repaired and tiled the walls up to 48-inches all around and installed a tile floor. I was responsible to provide only the tile. I liked this because I was not tied to one supplier for tile and decorative listello. Nathan's rates were very reasonable and considering the quality or workmanship, an excellent value. Wonderful attitude from both Nathan and his co-worker. They were friendly, honest, and kept to their schedule. I took pictures everyday of the progress that was made and it is amazing the level of detail Nathan goes to even beyond the visible. Great work! Great people! True Tile is my first choice and I would hire again."

"Handyman Matters did a great job of repairing very large hole in finished basement drywall including painting to match existing color.  Also installed vanity / sink / light fixture / mirror / baseboard / towel racks in bathroom plus painting the room.  Looks great, price was reasonable, and quality of work was very high.  The company was very efficient in producing quotes and meeting the promised schedule.

"Great! We thought our gutters Needed repaired But when Aaron and Xena came out they showed us othey showed us other function errors That brought water closer to our house from improper installation errors. They inspected everything and showed us the errors. We ended up getting new gutters. They had a large variety of options and colors and protection against leaves and sticks. They were respectful and efficient And had great communication!! I would use journey Contracting again! They made it very painless To replace my gutters! 5 stars to these guys"

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Standing water can lead to surface discoloration if your granite countertops are improperly sealed. However, it’s possible to remove hard water stains with a baking soda paste. Take more care with acidic liquids, such as fruit juice or red wine, which can leave more permanent stains. That’s why it’s so important to reseal these surfaces regularly.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface materials can be cut with standard woodworking tools, such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. However, it is crucial to use the correct type of blade to avoid damaging the material.

For a circular saw, a tungsten carbide-tipped blade is required; a triple chip grind blade is highly recommended. For a jigsaw, you should use a fine-tooth down-cutting blade. Do not use blades designed for cutting wood, as they can cause microfractures that weaken the edges of the countertop. A diamond blade is also unnecessary, as those are designed for harder materials like natural stone, which Corian is not.

After cutting, the edge will be rough. It is essential to sand and smooth the cut edge to prevent microfractures, which can eventually compromise the integrity of the countertop.

Due to the acidity, using vinegar to clean quartz countertops can actually damage them. In fact, doing so can cause discoloration and surface damage in the quartz. While it’s possible to clean other countertops, like laminate, tile, and butcher block, with vinegar, it’s best to stay from this cleaning solution if you have quartz in your kitchen or bathroom.

Acid can seriously damage granite countertops and lead to etching and erosion. This is why cleaning with vinegar isn’t recommended. Other acidic items that you should keep away from your granite countertops include:

  • Citrus

  • Acetone nail polish remover

  • Tomatoes

  • Ammonia

In addition, always steer clear of using bleach on or around your granite as it will degrade the countertop’s sealant quickly.

Unsealed granite is more susceptible to staining and other damage. Regularly sealing your granite countertops decreases the chances you’ll need to repair damaged countertops in the future. It also keeps it looking shiny rather than becoming dull over time. You can check whether your granite needs resealing by putting a few drops of water on the counter and waiting 15 minutes to see whether the water permeates the surface.
