"Posting my email to Madison Tree, below. Sent 4/26/23. No response. Cannot believe they treat people like this and put their safety at risk. I called your office on 4/24 in an effort to obtain some information on your policy/protocol around tree removal as it relates to close neighbors whose property and safety are affected by your work. No one called me back. I live next door to the staging area your crew used Wed – Fri of last week to remove some trees from [Hyde Park home]. I barely know that homeowner and I had no idea this work would be taking place. I even spoke to one of your supervisors (?) on Wed morning to see what was going on. He failed to inform me at that time that my back yard would be unusable and unsafe for 3 days. As it turned out, my house was not safe either. On Thurs morning, my lawn guy showed up, as scheduled, to do my spring cleanup. One of your guys told him he had “30 seconds” to get out of my back yard. Nice. At 5.30pm on Fri, I looked out the 2nd floor back window and saw the crane, holding a large piece of tree trunk, suspended over the NE corner of my house. I went outside and told one of your employees to tell the crane operator to stay away from my house. His reply was: We’re done and we weren’t anywhere near your house. This was a lie and I don’t appreciate being gaslighted. I challenged his lie and an argument ensued. He continued to lie and F-bombs were dropped on both sides. I then spoke with a second employee who didn’t deny the crane was suspended over my house, but kept talking about risk mitigation. The problem is that while they mitigated the risk of your paying customer, they did nothing at all mitigate risk to my property or to me – which sounds like a company policy. Why would you allow your employees to treat people like this? You show up unannounced, denying me notice that I am losing the use of part of my property for several days, put me and my house at risk, and then lie about it. I had [different tree service] do my tree work several years ago and I cannot imagine they would have treated my neighbors like this under any circumstances. (Your crew also backed into my fence on Wed. Since the developer’s demo guys already hit it, that’s on him, but the fact that your guys smashed it even further and said nothing about it to me, says even more about you as a company.) This kind of behavior makes the mission and values statement you posted on your website a complete joke."

"My initial appointment with Jackson McClain was excellent - punctual, professional, personable and knowledgeable. On the day of service, I am glad I was home as I had to ask the workers to trim some more branches on one tree (they were sticking out much farther than other branches and it wasn't aesthetically good and it blocked a view from my windows) and also had to ask them to cut off a single large branch on another tree that looked really bizarre after the other trimming they had done on it. A week or so later I ended up trimming some branches off a third tree that were sticking way out beyond the other branches and were overhanging the sidewalk into my house. Positives included being worked in much sooner than expected; the crew was pleasant and cleaned up all the branches they cut."

Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:
Heat treatments
Freezing treatments
Traps
Barriers
Chemical pesticides
Fumigation
Rodenticides
Mechanical devices
Repellants
The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.
For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.
There are specific methods for pest removal that you can DIY without hiring an expert. If you are preventing pests from making an appearance or clearing out a small infestation of harmless insects, you will likely have success on your own. However, if you’re dealing with pests that eat wood, bedbugs, or other pests that carry a disease risk, like rodents, it’s always worth it to call a pest professional to help you.
Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.
While not every infestation is preventable, there are some actions you can take to minimize the risk of running into these pests in your home. These actions include:
Keeping your home tidy. This includes vacuuming regularly, sanitizing your kitchen, storing food in airtight containers, disposing garbage regularly, and keeping your home clutter-free.
Deep clean at least twice a year. Deep cleaning neglected crevices and corners of your home can help prevent breeding grounds from forming.
Repairing your home when needed. If your home has cracks or holes, you have an open invitation for pests to come in. Remove any standing water and seal any gaps in your floors, walls, and foundation.
Cleaning up your yard. Keep shrubbery and branches well-trimmed and away from your home. Remove fallen leaves and other debris.
Be smart with storage. If you use firewood, store it away from the home (at least 20 feet away if possible) and off of the ground.
