Customers say: Quick response

"Mr. Moreland and his team were on time, stayed late and met all our needs. As the project developed, he was able to incorporate my changing wants and needs. I appreciated his honesty and ideas. I am planning on doing a master bath remodel and opening up the first floor for a little more of an open floor plan shortly as soon as our money allows, thank you all."

"The floors are beautiful! The floors started out very dull with some scratches and we wanted them to look new without going through the entire refinishing process AND we wanted it done DUSTLESS. I called one company and was quoted a price too much for my budget, so my next call was to the Floor Doctor. Scott answered and told me right away about all of my options and the approximate cost of each: deep cleaning; buffing, cleaning and re-coating; and a full on refinishing. He wanted to look at my floors first to make sure I was getting the service that was right for my particular situation and he came out the NEXT DAY! He told me that the floors did not need to be completely refinished and that they were in good enough shape to do the buff, clean and re-coat, which is a much more inexpensive option. Scott even made sure to tell me of the limitations of the process and that it would not completely remove every flaw, but that the floors would look amazing. I appreciated his honesty and his not trying to sell me something I did not need. He also recommended a satin finish which is not as shiny and looks fantastic. He even wrote up a quote on the spot which was incredibly reasonable. We needed it done right away because we need to move in and he said he would start at 8am the following Monday, which was only a few days away. He and his team were there when I arrived to let them in and he went over the process with me again and explained everything in detail. Our entire space is hardwood, so it took 2 days, and when we went to inspect (which Scott insisted on) my husband and I were thrilled!!! The floors were gorgeous! They look brand new and the satin finish is so much better for us than the really shiny finish. They still have shine, but in a more subtle way and almost every flaw is gone. We have a few really deep scratches from a previous owner, but even those are MUCH less noticeable and can only be removed with a complete refinish. There is no dust to clean up and there is no strong chemical odor (they use a low VOC product, which was also important to us.) We are so happy with the work that Scott and his team did and will definitely use them again if we have the need. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Floor Doctor!!!!! Thank you!!!

"Clear Cut Cincinnati changed my life! I have held off on hiring a housecleaning service bc I didn’t think they could clean like I could. Well, I finally decided to give it a try and Teana didn’t disappoint! My house was immaculate! Even my kids said, “Mom, it looks like you cleaned it!” It looked spectacular! She paid attention to all the details, and I was finally able to relax! I have referred her to 3 friends/colleagues! I am very impressed with the service provided by Clear Cut Cincinnati!"

"I am completely satisfied with our experience with Jeannies Cleaning. Jeannie and the crew were so professional. Jeannie was very accommodating to my ever-changing schedule and was more than happy to fit me in when I needed it. The crew showed up on time and was ready to work. They were here for 8 hours and worked non stop! I would highly recommend this company to anybody. We will be using them on a regular schedule!"

"This is the first time I have used someone to paint my house.  I usually paint all the rooms myself.  But I wasn't excited about painting a two story foyer with a ladder.  Two men arrived right when they said they would.  They hand painted the wall near the ceiling and baseboards and used a large roller for the rest.  I was amazed at how quickly they were finished.
However, I was disappointed with the quality of the work.  The two men packed up without looking over the walls to see if anything needed touching up.  There were several drips on the walls (several noticeable drips ready to fall at the top of my foyer window) and above my front door. And an inset part of the wall that was painted a different color needed a second coat as it was streaky. When they touched up the paint there, they left paint on the white trim beneath the inset wall.  The men packed up the ladders and all their equipment before asking me if everything looked Ok and checking it for themselves.  Also, they left a black stain on my carpet in the family room from either walking through it or from their equipment.  They also used my stationary tub in my laundry room without asking. I wouldn't have minded but would prefer they ask before venturing in other areas of the house. When I pointed out the mistakes, they were very professional about fixing them.
Also, after cleaning up the floor (it was a snowy day), I found dried paint on my hardwood entry and a dried paint drop on my carpeted stair.  I was able to get the paint of my hardwood but the spot with the paint on carpeted stair is there to stay. These men were clearly trying to get the job done and get out of there.

"In the beginning we did a lot of rearranging of schedules and working out exactly what they should clean but they responded wonderfully each time.  And now we have a regular schedule set.  Sometimes I leave them a note with a special request and they always come through beautifully.  Our floors squeak afterwards, and sometimes it seems a little dangerous actually since they're so clean and smooth I feel a little slippery!  They vacuum the upholstery with the cat hair, and use eco-friendly products (at least I hope they are -- that's what we asked for, and we never have harsh smell in the house when we come home)."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Maintenance includes regular cleaning with appropriate products, periodic sealing to protect against staining and wear, and addressing minor issues before they escalate.

Wood floors should be polished every two to four months to maintain a shine and to keep them protected from daily wear and tear. More frequent maintenance includes dry mopping the floors daily and cleaning spills immediately, using a spray mop and cleaner weekly to remove any built up dirt or grime, and sanding and refinishing the floors every three to five years.

After carpet removal, prepare for new flooring by assessing the subfloor. You will want to address any imperfections to create a smooth and level base for installation. Remember, proper subfloor preparation is crucial for optimal new flooring results. Consider repairing and replacing damaged areas for a stable foundation. For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

Yes, you can mop hardwood floors with a damp flat or string mop as long as it is not soaking wet. Always avoid leaving standing water or fully soaking your hardwood floors, even if they are properly finished. A slightly wet mop, with or without cleaning solutions, will not damage the wood.
