"Very competitively priced. They even offered me a small discount to help me decide on a pro since all 3 quotes I got were about the same. Job was done professionally, neatly and on-time. Nice work."

"This is the review. Let me know this is good before I send Prompt and on time service for the asbestos removal along with safe and proper poly containment. Also 3rd party testing confirmed safe air test. The workers were in suits, masks and had ASD machines running very professional and highly recommended for any asbestos work! We are very pleased the cleanup was nice, with no debris . I would definitely hire again if needed"

"Adam and Nick arrived on time and performed the fan installation quickly and efficiently. The men acted as a team and helped the job to go faster. After seeing how the job went, we asked Adam to look at another project and after hearing his diagnosis and estimate contracted with him to do another job."

"They brought my number down substantially. I had a really good experience about them. The company tells you exactly what's going on and supported the fact with documents. The workers were personable and work fast. I would recommend them to everybody and I'll definitely use them again"

"I had my house tested and I was in a level of radon that needed to be addressed. Called RAK Radon and Nick called right back. Came to my house to look for a place to put my system in. Was a difficult job as he had to dig under foundation to fix. My place is a slab home and I thought I was okay because of no basement. I was wrong. Radon was coming through. Nick knew what he was doing. Explained each step he took to fix the problem. Was knowledgeable, friendly and did a great job. I highly recommend him. After a 48 hour test, after he finished the job, my radon level was under the safe level. Couldn’t of been happier."

"Best home inspection ever. He showed up early, walkes us through every thing he saw as a current problem and/or building code violation and the next day I had a very detailed outline with poctures for every thing he saw wrong with the home. Three days later I had the radon report. Best building inspector I've ever had the pleasure to work with and at a great price."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

No, radon mitigation systems do not decrease home value or make a home harder to sell. In areas where homes experience similar radon exposure risks, a radon mitigation system is viewed as an improvement. Potential homebuyers often opt to buy a home with a radon mitigation system already installed to reduce the risk of cancer for their families.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

A homeowner can install a radon mitigation system on their own. But it’s a challenging DIY that requires a lot of knowledge about radon mitigation as well as familiarity with local regulations. You do not want to risk an improper installation that leaves the system unable to detect radon or gives it a shortened life span. Relying on a professional is the surest way to guarantee a successful installation.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

Options include sub-slab depressurization, crawlspace ventilation, and sealing cracks. Choose based on home construction and radon levels.
