"Very well. If you use a sink that is not purchased from Pacific Tile (stainless only), be sure it is available early on in the installation process, to ensure it can be installed."

We had ice and water damage from this past Winter and seemed to affect most every room; this was the second time we used Serg and his professional team in two years. Both times we were amazed how outstanding the work was, how sensitive the workers were to both our older home, our pets as well as us.  The repaired water and mold damage in several rooms, they plastered and did drywall, painted, performed electrical and plumbing work, the regrouted our tile floors, repaired moldings, updated a bathroom, etc.  They powerwashed our house and fixed our deck, cleaned, painted and made our dreary basement look new and welcoming.  They even washed and repainted our outdoor furniture, put molding and painted our old screen door and in general made the house shine.  I would have never endorsed any contractor before, yet was so impressed and thankful to Serg and his crew that I want to pass the word and say Thank You to him.  The work is superb and the pricing exactly what he said it would be.  Thanks Gents.  [Member name removed]

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface.

The best types of tiles for a shower are ceramic and porcelain tiles. These materials are durable, water-resistant, and easy to maintain, making them ideal for wet environments. Porcelain tiles are slightly more durable than ceramic. Both options come in a wide variety of styles, so you can achieve the perfect look for your bathroom.

Costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot for installation and $150 to $600 for repairs, depending on the material and complexity.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.

If the hearth ends against a wall, you can use a tile cutter as you normally would. However, if the edge of your hearth ends with no surface pressing against it,you may want to look into rounded tiles. These give a smooth edge to your hearth and make sure cut edges aren’t visible. You can also see if the tile you have has pieces that have been glazed or rounded on one edge. You’d then cut the tile and place it normally, with the cut edge facing inward.
