"We could not be happier with the job that Andy and Jesse did with the window replacements. The quality of the product and the professional manner of installation was suburb, the project was done in very timely fashion, there was minimal disruption, and the clean-up was complete. We are very happy we selected Comfort Windows, and we would certainly recommend then to others"

"Brett did a number of jobs for us: replacing sliding glass doors, replacing windows, installing flooring, fixing a fence. Once we met him, we called him for every job we had. He was always priced competitively and always delivered with excellence. He is on time, stays focused and is committed to completing the job to your specifications. We will always use Brett moving forward. He is the best and as his company names says, Brett knows best. We offer him our highest recommendation."

"We have an older home in Fayetteville, NY that was in need of upgrades. Our vinyl siding was old and fading and our windows in great need of replacement. Following our initial meeting with Mike, we were excited to transform our home with new siding and all new windows, including a bay window and sliding glass door. From our first contact with Chansey, we were assured that his level of detail and experience would have a positive result. He answered all our questions, offered experienced input in decision making and was responsive to any feedback we shared as the job progressed. The crew were professional, and worked at an amazing pace through the completion of the job. Communication was great regarding scheduling, as we were working around multiple jobs needing completion. There were no concerns that the end goal of a great job was shared by all. We would absolutely recommend C Michael Exteriors to others. Their work has absolutely transformed our house. We appreciate all they did to make this happen."

"Trevor Brown was great at removing a hefty snow pack from my roof. He was able to get the job done within a day of my speaking with him. Very thorough and careful, checking in with me during the project to make sure any concerns were addressed. He did exactly what I needed, and cleaned up afterwards. Reasonable pricing, honest and diligent. I highly recommend Precision Renovations."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Rubbing alcohol on its own will not remove scratches from glass. You can, however, combine rubbing alcohol with baking soda—in a one-to-one mixed ratio—to create a paste that will help get minor scratches out of glass.

Broken glass cannot usually be recycled. Most recycling programs state that glass must be intact in the form of bottles or jars in order to be recycled. You may be able to recycle broken glass at a drop-off recycling facility—contact the facility to see if they accept broken glass.

Start by attaching the mirror to a wall stud if possible. Next, use appropriate hardware for the mirror's size and the wall material. That could look like drywall anchors, toggle bolts, or self-drilling anchors to ensure a strong hold. Additionally, D-rings or hanging brackets are more secure than a nail. You can also use mirror adhesive to secure small or larger mirrors with a vanity as a base.

You can use hot, soapy water, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, window cleaner, nail polish remover, WD-40, and cooking oil to remove glass labels. You can also apply heat with a hair dryer or steam cleaner. Use a plastic scraper or credit card to remove the adhesive, as a razor blade can permanently scratch your glass.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.
