"My 72 year old single mom was just taken for $484 and her washer still doesn’t work. Now she’s told not worth it to put any more $$ into it!!! So $485 for NOTHING. Hung up on me when I called on her behalf. Should really be ashamed of himself taking advantage of the elderly. Told him that if he couldn’t help her I was going to write a bad review…he said “go ahead” and hung up on me."

Limescale can build up outside your dishwasher if you live in a home with hard tap water. You may find residual water in the hoses, but you can plug them. If the dishwasher breaks down midcycle it can sometimes be full of water. You’ll need to manually remove the water with a plastic cup before removing the dishwasher.

Any drain in your house requires a water trap to prevent sewer gases from entering the home. Dishwashers don’t have an internal water trap, so they must use an external P trap. The most convenient P trap for the dishwasher is already in the plumbing under your sink.

It’s not worth fixing a 20-year-old dishwasher or any 20-year-old appliance. Twenty years is beyond the useful life span of nearly every major household appliance. Once the appliance nears the end of its useful life span, repairs will become more frequent. A replacement often becomes more cost-effective at that point.
