THE REPAIRMAN FROM ANTHONY'S REPAIRED AND REPLOACED BROKEN PARTS.  DID A WONDERFUL JOB.  HE WAS PLEASANT AND EFFICIENT.  (A MONTH PRIOR, LOEWS HAD SENT A DIFFERENT REPAIR MAN FROM NORTH SHORE APPLIANCE, AND HE DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT, SO I HAD TO CALL LOEWS AGAIN.)  THIS REPAIRMAN WAS FROM ANTHONY'S TV AND VCR SERICE.  HE RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY, ORDERED NEEDED PARTS, AND WITHIN A DAY OR TWO, HE RETURNED AND REPLACED THE BROKEN PART, AND THE MACHINE NOW RUNS LIKE NEW.  VERY SATISFIED WITH ANTHONY'S.

If all this detail bores you, just skip to June 7th below--his statement says it all.
May 29th, 2012:  He couldn't find anything wrong with the dishwasher even though I had explained that the wining / grinding noise was intermittent. I suggested that the problem was perhaps a bearing in the pump or motor. He seemed to agree, but he was blunt and unfriendly in general. 
This is where the Wheels started to come off the wagon.
Wheel #1:  He went on to state that the repair would be too expensive and that the Warrantor (Lowes) would simply "buy out the contract". I took this to mean that they would simply return the price of my warranty purchase (about $250) and leave me with a broken dishwasher -- essentially as if I never had a warranty to begin with. This got me very upset.
Wheel #2:  He then suddenly changed his tune and said that Lowes would probably have me go pick out a new, non-matching dishwasher that I would have to install myself. This served to leave me doubly upset. That's when he left without saying any other words of encouragement.  These ridiculous statements turned out to be wrong but I didn't find out for a week!I didn't hear anything from him for a week until he called on June 4 saying that the "parts had arrived" and that he would be out the next day in the morning.
June 5th:  While I was at work, he arrived late and (presumably) installed the parts.  My wife says the only thing she did was show him where the water shut-off is.  HE WAS NEVER TOLD TO DO ANYTHING ELSE BUT FIX THE WASHER AND PUT IT BACK WHERE IT WAS.
Wheel #3:  I came home to see that the dishwasher was reinstalled in a different position.  It now sticks out from the surrounding cabinets, and is lower in its cavity leaving a LARGE GAP between the top of the washer and the countertop.  My shims were apparently removed.  It no longer fits in the space that I had carefully prepared for it.  Worse yet, it was now MUCH NOISIER because of the large gap and because all the extra foam I had installed was GONE.
June 7th:  I called him in the afternoon to ask why he decided to undo all my work and reinstall the washer in a different postion.  He said my wife had approved it.  This was a simply not true.  I said I wanted the washer reinstalled to its original position. 
Wheel #4:  His reply was, "I'M DONE WITH THIS JOB.  YOU'LL HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF."I think his statement says it all.  I have contacted Lowes and they are sending out another repairman to fix his work.  He needs to find a line of work that doesn't involve customer contact.  YOU need to stay away from him.

"[removed member name] DID NOT pay me to do this job and had 0 Authority over what I was allowed to do or not do .... The repair was done according what the contract company authorized me to do I was working for The Contract company not [removed member name] customer and this customer has no right to tell me what i can do and cant do the company that signed the check is who told me what I can do and what I can't do custom istalls by the customer are not our responsibilty I had already spent an extra 2 hrs dealing with [removed member name] custom installation and nothing was set up to normal specifications ..... We are not paid to INSTALL anything I was paid to repair a Dish Washer and that was working perfectly fine when I left ....Hence THE" I am done with this call " Had [removed member name] been my customer and he was paying me I I also do an average of 60 calls a month for this Contract company...so we must be doing SOMETHING very right!"
