  • Affordable Solutions by Brian
I am very happy with the work completed and Brian's responsiveness. He gave us a ball park figure of the cost, when my husband talked to him over the phone, and came in close to the estimate....we felt it was a fair price. He's punctual, very professional and I would highly recommend Brian to anyone. I honestly feel he doesn't take advantage of people. THANK YOU again Brian for taking care of the issues that needed to be fixed! read less

  • Affordable Solutions by Brian
Brian was very responsive to my concerns about the lights flickering in the house. He came and looked things over. He didn't see anything that was causing it in the house and suggested I contact National Grid. He did recommend some things be taken care of in the near future. My house is old and and the electrical panel needs upgrading and some things need to be put on their own circuit. There was not charge for this consultation. Not long after this, a security light was not functioning correctly and needed to be replaced. He fit this into his schedule quickly and took care of it while I was at work read less

  • Affordable Solutions by Brian
Absolutely wonderful experience. I had been looking for someone for help with these projects and kept being told that they were too "small." I called Brian and he responded immediately. He visited the property shortly after that to assess the situation and said he was happy to help out. We brainstormed about how to accomplish what I was looking for on the screened porch. His solution was better than anything I had imagined! He and his co-worker finished the projects in a few hours. The work was impeccable. In addition, I truly appreciate that Brian was very honest about the high cost of plexi-glass (which I definitely wanted for safety/weight reasons), and that he looked around to get the best possible price that he could. I look forward to hiring Brian and Affordable Solutions whenever I need something done around the house read less

Exemplar! Paul, the owner, met me at my place - sketched a plan, communicated with me throughout process - always answering my questions, immediately responded. Landscapers - extremely talented & professional. Followed through with everything plus more!! Outstanding.

  • Landscapes East Inc & Northern Lights
Landscapes East is a wonderful company. First they came up with a beautiful design that incorporated everything we wanted. Then they showed up every day on time and worked hard all day, no matter what the weather. The job went into the December, so it was cold in upstate New York! If something didn't look right, they let me know and we came up with something better together. They were very meticulous in their planning and building. I would not hesitate to have them work for us again read less

  • Landscapes East Inc & Northern Lights
Our experience with Landscapes East was first rate from start to finish. We couldn't be more pleased with the final result and recommend this company highly. We researched several landscaping companies before settling on Landscapes East. We met with Paul to discuss the project because we liked the examples we saw on their website. He was both friendly and professional as he asked a lot of questions about what we wanted to do and the look we wanted to achieve. After our time sitting around the kitchen table he spent over an hour measuring out the site, making notes and taking pictures. A few days late Paul returned with a proposal. His plan very well captured what we were looking for. I liked the fact that he was flexible and proposed several options depending on our budget. We decided to focus on the stone wall, patio, steps, pergola and landscape lighting and to forgo redoing the landscaping for now. Paul gave us an estimated start date (that turned out to be accurate) a couple of months off. We communicated by email a couple of times in the interim to refine the plans. A week or so before the work started he called to confirm the start date. Tom and Charlie were the crew on this job. I don't know how many other folks work for Paul, but you won't go wrong if you get these fellows. They're multi-talented, hardworking craftsmen whose skills are magnified by the quality of the equipment they have available. On our relatively small job (an entrance way) they delivered the field stone, crusher-run gravel, sand, river stone and steps using a dump truck towing the front end loader and skidder they used. In the first day they completed the basic excavation, placed the geotextile and first layer of gravel for the patio base and, most impressive to me, completed the extension of the dry lay wall. This was impressive to me for a couple of reasons. First, I've built some dry lay walls myself (including the one they were completing) so I have a keen appreciation of the work involved. It would have taken me a couple of weeks to do what he did in one day. Secondly, they blended the new work in perfectly - you can't tell where the old wall ends and the completion wall begins. Tom accomplished this by starting with stone that was a good match, then disassembling part of the old wall before rebuilding it interspersing stones from the old wall with the new. Their attention to detail was exceptional. For example they used a laser transit to pitch the patio, heavily compacting each layer as they laid it down. The power compactor they used is another example of the quality equipment they bring to bear. I've seen professions tamp a base using a hand-tamper. It's an accepted practice for light-scale jobs. The next step up is the type of power compactor you might get from a rental place. They're very effective, and in fact Tom and Charlie had one of those to do compacting in areas where they needed to be more mobile. For the patio, they used a massive power compactor. 4 strong men couldn't lift it (the guys used the front end loader to get it on and off the truck). When they first fired it up, I was sitting in a chair on the other side of the house and could feel the vibration. I'm extremely confident the patio isn't going to shift anytime soon. I could go on at length, but I think you get the idea. The design met our specifications, the project started as promised, the workers were friendly, professional, hard-working and meticulous, the job site was kept neat and the final project was even better than we hoped it would be read less

  • Divine Lightscapes
It was excellent. Tim came up during his vacation and did lighting around our spa. It made a huge difference in our curb appeal, and now all our neighbors want the same service.

  • Gasparini Landscaping
I have never, ever had a problem with him or his company. They are professional, competent, and overall great! I would trust him to do anything on my property. He is not the cheapest, but the money I have paid him over the years has been more than worth it. I will never use anyone else. PS When I first used him, he was a young man who cut my lawn, but has become a major landscaping company. Good for you, Gary!! read less
