"Rick advised me via text message what to do to get the system up for a soft restart right away. Then he came to my home, tested my water, and made all the necessary adjustments to make sure the system was working properly. I didnâ t buy the original system from Rick and now I wish I had. I high recommend him!"

"My well is 300 feet deep and for 22 years our water was great. It started getting funky and then we had no water. I used Angi at about 11pm and within 10 minutes Ed from water works called and he came out 2 days later and put in a new pump. I am a DIYer and can say I rarely hire people. I hired Ed and he did a fantastic job. He explained everything he was doing, cleaned up and used quality American products. I researched a lot of plumbers and only on Eds reviews did they mention changing pumps. Honestly if I was younger I probably would have attempted to do it myself but after watching it without the proper equipment there is no way. But Ed took the care I would have and am very very pleased. Here's to having great water for another 20 plus years. Don't hesitate to hire water works."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A lower-end water softener would cost around $900, not including installation. Each home has different requirements, water hardness, and number of inhabitants, so there’s a huge range in pricing—$600 to over $6,000. The average water softener repair bill is around $500, meaning it’s a much better option to repair any issues and only replace your softener if absolutely necessary.

Drinking hard water is not known to have any negative health impacts. Using hard water can lead to dry skin and hair, and the minerals in hard water can build up in pipes, faucets, and appliances. Hard water is more of a threat to your plumbing than it is to your health.

There are many possibilities for why your shower’s water pressure is low. It might be a simple-to-fix issue like the water valves being partially turned off, a dirty showerhead or hose, leaks in the plumbing, or an old showerhead. However, low water pressure in the shower could also indicate a larger issue with your home’s plumbing system.

Hard water isn’t necessarily bad for you. In some ways, it’s good for you. If you’re deficient in magnesium or calcium, hard water can give you a mineral boost that you wouldn’t get with soft water. However, this is where the benefits of hard water pretty much stop. Hard water can cause many minor inconveniences and lead to costly, premature replacements of your water-using appliances.

To get utilities set up on a property, you first have to contact the local department of planning to determine whether your property is able to connect to public utilities. From there, you can work with a structural engineer and/or a building contractor to design the layout of utility lines on the property. The pros will need this information as they begin securing building permits before they can start adding lines.

If your property isn’t able to connect to public utilities, you’ll need to consider working with pros to develop a comfortable off-grid home that will meet your needs.
