"Lorenzo did a great job. All his guys were very attentive. Everything was done right on schedule. All the work was perfect. He did a great job installing my foundation, Belgium block driveway and major regrading of the property. I would hire him again in a heart beat."

"Rob and Christine were amazing again - going above and beyond as usual. Rob had to replace the pipe going from the house to our cesspool, and he told me that he would hand dig everything to be careful not to disturb the grass and plant life. While he was replacing the pipe, he discovered that the sprinkler line was precariously placed closed to the cover of the pool, so he changed the cover to ensure that there were no issues going forward. When he completed the job, there was no evidence of him digging up the lawn or plants - he meticulously put everything back exactly as he found it - demonstrating pride and care that you don't always see. He honored the original price he had quoted - even though he did more than expected."

"Our experience with C&G was extremely positive. Guy was completely above board about everything, throughout the process. We inherited a mold problem from a previous owner and he walked us through the process, adhered to all state guidelines (including ensuring that independent parties did the testing and restoration work after C&G did the remediation), and did a fantastic job taking care of the problem. He also helped us out with an entirely separate water issue one day when he was in the neighborhood. We are huge fans and would recommend him to anyone."

"Great. Jack Brady is one of the most honest and best residential contractors I've ever dealt with. Jack educated me on my new home's location and what water issues I could face going forward. He installed scudders and extended downspouts from 6 leaders off my gutters so water is no longer coming off my home and going into my home's foundation. He did the work in just over a day, was extremely tedious and clean, and kept me updated on everything throughout the process. He was a pleasure to work with and he will be helping me with more projects in the future."

"I purchased a new effluent sewage pump for my basement bathroom as the old one had enough after 20 years. After placing the pump in the basin, the pump itself worked fine but the float never rose to make it kick on automatically. Plumber determined that the float was tethered too loosely to the pump and it was getting stuck on the side wall of the basin. He shortened the length, re-did the elbow on the waste line, tested the pump and checked for leaks. He was professional, courteous, and I would not hesitate to use their services in the future."
The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.
The cost to install a drain pipe is $600 on average, but the total can range between $150 and $2,000. Some cost factors that influence your project price include the type of drain, the area’s accessibility, the proximity of existing drain lines, and whether you’re installing a new drain or replacing an old one. Replacing the p-trap or s-trap under a single fixture will usually cost around $150, while replacing a main drain pipe can cost well over $2,000.
Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.
You might need a permit to modify or repair any portion of your plumbing system, including drainage lines, depending on where you live. In some areas, simple replacements of existing drain lines don’t require a permit. We recommend asking your drain pipe installer or your local building department about permitting requirements. In many cases, only certified plumbers can pull plumbing permits, so you’ll usually need to leave the permit application to your professional. The fee for the permit will be passed to you on your project bill, though.
We highly recommend leaving the work of replacing drain pipes to a professional plumber. Drain pipes are a key part of your plumbing system, and making mistakes during the installation or even using the wrong size pipes for your specific fixture can lead to an elevated risk of leaks and clogs. Additionally, drain pipes prevent harmful sewer gas from entering your home, so hiring a professional plumber is essential to keeping the risk of leaks and clogs low and avoid reducing your indoor air quality.
