"From the start, Automatic Irrigation were professional and courteous. They offered a very competitive price (the best by a good margin) and followed it up with high quality work. One of the technicians who did the install has been with the company for almost 30 years, and the care he and his crew took in installing our system showed. They took care of even the smallest details, like sweeping up the small debris from having to drill through the wall for the water line, and properly sealing the hole afterward. The controller and components used were of the highest quality. I could have paid more and still been happy, but again, even price-wise, they were the best. Please feel confident that you will be in good hands going with Automatic Irrigation. I am happy to recommend them to you."

You can leave grass clippings on the lawn, depending on their length. You don’t want to completely cover new grass and block it from sunlight, or encourage moss crowd out the more delicate grass. In some cases, they can be beneficial: Clippings can be a source of fertilizer and help protect the ground as young grass blades develop.

The growth of tall fescue grass often causes clumps of grass in your lawn. Avoid pulling up the clumps, as it won’t effectively remove them. Instead, dig out clumps and their roots when you notice them early in the growing season. Herbicides can also treat grass clumps, but they can also affect other plants you might not want to kill, so use them sparingly and always follow manufacturer instructions.

Mow before aeration. After you've aerated the lawn, you can fertilize, water, and overseed. But wait at least two weeks after aeration before you mow.

The best times to mow your lawn are mid-morning or early evening. Mowing in the mid-morning, around 10 a.m., allows any dew to evaporate so the grass is dry. Cutting dry grass is easier on both the lawn and the mower, and this timing gives the grass blades time to recover in the sunlight before the peak afternoon heat. Alternatively, you can mow in the late afternoon or early evening once the heat of the day has passed. Avoid mowing too early in the morning when the grass is still wet with dew, and try not to mow during the hottest part of the day, as high temperatures and harsh sunlight can put extra stress on the grass.
