"The technician and owner showed up on time and got right to work. They cleaned all the vents in the ceilings and walls. Howard and the technician were very friendly and helpful. After they finished the a/c vents, the technician cleaned my dryer vent. My dryer is working much more efficiently now. I just had to run around with the vacuum to clean up the a small amount of dust that had fallen from the vents."

"Some people don’t realize how important it is to clean your dryer vents. Mike and his very knowledgeable crew went above and beyond expectations. They showed up to my house, cleaned my dryer vents, and checked everything from top to bottom to make sure everything was running right. I was very pleased with the experience I had with JIC. JIC is an honest and reliable business that operates with integrity and I would recommend them to anyone."

Air Duct Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You should remove and clean your HRV filters about once a month, as debris will build up quickly, especially on the fresh air side of the ductwork. Even with routine cleaning, you should plan to replace the filters at least once a year or more often if you find that they’re getting dirty quickly during operation.

Some experts say you should clean your air ducts every three to five years, but regular air duct cleaning is something you may never need to do. The EPA has shown no noticeable health benefits to cleaning your ducts regularly, so as long as you don’t encounter any major problems and maintain your HVAC system, you won’t need to clean your air ducts.

You may occasionally notice less air movement from your home’s furnace and air conditioning system. Cleaning air ducts can help with airflow through the HVAC system. However, quite a bit of dust and debris inside the ducts wouldn’t restrict airflow enough that you could feel it. As a first option, try changing the furnace filter to improve airflow.

If one room is significantly colder than the others, closing the air vents in the warmer rooms may seem like a way to redirect airflow. However, closing air vents is usually not a good idea. When the vents are blocked, your HVAC system will have to work harder, leading to higher energy bills and potentially shortening the life of the system.

Yes, you can rent air duct cleaning equipment from many home improvement stores or equipment rental companies. Options may include high-powered vacuums, rotary brushes, and negative air machines. Renting professional-grade tools can provide a deeper clean than a standard vacuum, but proper technique is still essential for effective results.
