All work is done by me, a registered professional engineer in New York, and I also conduct inspections and evaluations.
"Was Awful. Measurment's were off. Plans were incomplete. After he measured the rooms, we had to remeasure the rooms ourselves and send them to him. I then had to go to his house to pick up the plans. I submitted the plans at which time I was told that I needed to get then done again by a professional. Held up the construction by several weeks. Save your money. Do not use Lou."

"Writing this review nearly 5 years after the initial work by Ambassador and going through subsequent tradespeople who were infinitely more professional, honest, thorough and thoughtful. We clearly got the C team, maybe even the D team from Ambassador, so word to the wise, if you want to be treated like 1 in 20 jobs, this company is the right one for you. From most recent to oldest: - Recently had our siding replaced and the siding guy said that the bathroom window Ambassador installed was the biggest hack job he’s ever seen and to never let them in our house again. - Poor grout and calking led to a leak below in our first floor kitchen. - Vented the bathroom fan by literally nailing a hanger to my attic ceiling and aiming the duct out of my attic fan - Used an accordion drain pipe instead of actual pvc plumbing (I kid you not) - Failed to actually test that the new shower head worked, so when we turned on the shower the first time and saw that it was leaking, I had to remove the shower head and put plumbers tape on pipe. That’s all I can remember for now, but I’m sure we’ll continue to find things along the way. I wouldn’t let these guys back in my house for a free bathroom. A 2 week job took 5 weeks...nothing like the C team."

"Engaged with Evolution drafting to get plans done for my sons home after it was damaged from the 2 hurricanes in Florida. We agreed on pricing and everything seemed great and we were close to finalizing the plans but the local city needed the plans signed and sealed. Evolution Drafting said they could provide this service for an additional cost of $1,100.00 which was paid on 3/20. They stated it should only take a few weeks to get done. Nothing ever was delivered and after numerous texts and emails, I was promised the final signed and sealed plans by 4/30. Well 4/30/2025 has come and gone and I still have not received our plans. Rueben has continued to stall me by stating he is trying to get these done ASAP. It has reached a point that I feel they are never going to get us the final plans as we have asked and paid for. Started out as a great experience but has turned into a nightmare for us and our son and his wife."

While you might think that architects only draw blueprints for buildings, they are much more involved in the overall construction process than you might realize. While they aren’t the ones swinging the hammers, architects do the following:
Communicate with the homeowner on the project request, including assistance when exact plans aren’t known
Develop computer-aided models and blueprints of the requested design
Ensure that the design incorporates form, function, and safety features
Provide the contractor with the agreed-upon design
Supervise the general contractor and any subcontractors throughout the project
Communicate any needed changes to the project with the homeowner and draw new plans accordingly
Before settling on and hiring an architect, it’s beneficial to you as a homeowner to ask some questions to familiarize yourself with their work. After all, you wouldn’t want to spend time and resources on a professional that doesn’t specialize in exactly what you want in a house. Some questions to ask your architect include:
How do you charge for services? Is it on an hourly basis, based on square footage, or based on project size?
How do we work together to stay on budget for this project?
Do you anticipate any future challenges with this project? How are these communicated?

After you’ve spoken with your contractor and agreed on a project, they’ll draw up blueprints, or plans, that the construction crew will use. The blueprint process can take between four and six months to complete. While this can seem like a long time, remember that the architect must communicate with your municipality to determine codes, communicate with you as the homeowner with any changes or adjustments, and coordinate with the construction crew.
If you simply remodel your home or add an addition, the time to draw up the plans will be shorter since fewer permits and surveys are required. Even still, it’s best to plan for a few months for the architect to complete this part of the project.
