I am recommending Todd O'Connell Architect for anyone in need of a new home design or remodel. The design of our house was fantastic and the price was fair. Our project was a typical one - to dormer a cape cod. The new design of the house overall was great, but to provide some transparency: there was one issue with initial design which showed that we needed drywell on our property. This was a major oversight and actually not required according to town rules and could have been very costly- but our GC caught the mistake before the plans were submitted to the town. Also, communication could have been better- Toddâ s team required phone calls because they werenâ t as responsive via email, which made things tough because I didnâ t always have time for a phone call. That said, our project required a variance and Todd was able to represent us and easily get us past the finish line (the project is very typical in New England). All in all, we are satisfied with the final design of our house and constantly receive compliments from our friends, family, and neighbors, and it has a lot to do with the design that Todd & team came up with, so I would use Todd & Team again but make sure that we also have a good GC.

Updated: Completed a second story to my house (ranch). Todd and his draftsmen missed several key measurements costing me to make drastic changes to plans at a large expense to me.

We are still working together on the plans so that our renovated home will be exactly the way I want it to be. We are currently on our 4th draft and find that they are fast, friendly and professional. The draftsman, TJ, that we’ve been working mostly with is amazing at collaborating with me to find solutions that will work best for my family! For example, I requested a few alterations one of which included making a new exterior door smaller, and he did everything I asked except change the size of the door explaining that if we ever needed to replace an appliance in the room the door accessed, we’d end up having to knock open an interior wall if the doorway wasn’t wide enough. I really appreciated that because I know it’s sometimes easier to give a customer what they want rather than what they need.
