Freedom roofing specializes in asphalt and metal roofing for both residential and commercial properties. Proudly serving all of Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse.

"Very rude and poor service. Abandoned job and put holes in my roof. Gaps in the metal trim. Blamed me for the hole and leaks. They did the work! Have many shingle sticking up because they left old roofing nails under them. They cut thru my siding and the flashing when installing trim and I can see daylight thru the cuts, from inside the house. The hole they left goes thru to an interior wall of the house. The trim was nailed thru the flashing. Nothing solid behind the trim to hold in the nails. Its been over a month and they never show up to repair the damage they caused. Pictures say it all. Their worker started screaming at me when I tried to explain the problems and so I screamed back to tell him to shut up and listen to my concerns. Now they are saying I harassed them with my yelling. They talk great and professional when they are selling the job, but the professionalism stops there. "

Roofer owned Roofer operated! Owner onsite at all times. Testa Roofing is a true craftsman roofing company that focuses on quality over quantity. With only one job going on at a time you can be rest assured that your project will be the main focus from start to finish.

"Nick and his crew was great. Nick was very easy to talk to and explained the process in advance. His crew started promptly on time. His crew consisted of skilled, well-coordinated and very hard working individuals. In this teardown job, they were able to do a seamless transition from one part of the roof that had an underlayment of cedar shingles to another part of the roof that had plywood underlayment. Tim was there all the time to supervise the work and Nick stopped by from time to time as well. They texted pictures along the way so we could see what was happening. We are very happy with the new roof. It looks great and they did a quality job. They put our lightening arresters back up when they were done too."

Roof Ice and Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Snowblowers are some of the best tools for snow removal because they remove large amounts of snow quickly without bodily harm or damaging your deck. If your snowblower can fit on your deck, it’s a good first line of defense to remove snow quickly and easily. If you don’t have a snowblower, a plastic shovel with a rubber blade is another good choice to remove snow on a deck.

The best snow removal tools include a snowblower or a plastic shovel since they're less likely to damage your driveway's surface. Metal shovels can crack asphalt and concrete. It's also a good idea to install driveway markers since they can make it much easier for you to identify where you should shovel without damaging the surrounding yard.

If you’re looking at how to remove snow from solar panels, heat from the sun usually melts the snow within a few days. However, snow removal might be necessary for winter solar power production in areas with deep snow during the winter. There are brushes with telescoping handles and gentle heads to brush away snow. It’s best to stay on the ground if possible and avoid using tools that could scratch the surface of the solar panels, like a snow shovel or broom.

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

How much snow can a roof hold? The answer could help you to avoid roof collapse—a worst-case scenario, of course. For most roofs, you can expect it to withstand four feet of fresh snow, two feet of packed snow, or two to three feet of a mix of old and new snow. However, your roof will only be able to handle one inch of ice. The actual weight capacity of your roof may vary, so check with whoever built it for exact details.
