New roof was put on in May 2018, started leaking spring 2020. Started contacting them about the issue May 1st and was told a "work order" would be put in. Two weeks of no contact, we contacted them again and the secretary told us they would contact us. Called two more times, told the same thing and no return call. Had to get a different contractor in so the leak did not do anymore damage to the ceiling.

Over the span of 2 weeks they tore off old roof and installed a new roof with a life time warranty. They also installed 4 windows and a new bay window. I had a leak a year later and they cam out and fixed it right away by putting a different flashing around a window. They came out 1 time to adjust the tension ion the cable that adjust the bay window

I paid for top grade materials: Deck Armor, Ice and Water Shield, ridge vent at the peak, 30 year shingles... 6 year labor, 30 year materials warranty. While under warranty a leak occurred at the base of the dormer. I took several months to get it repaired. The crew damaged my siding. I called and a crew replaced the damaged siding at no cost.. My ceiling had a 10 foot water stain and my living room wall had blisters from ceiling to floor. I inquired about this damage and was told they are responsible for the roof only. Even though the damage started and continued for months due to their inaction. A little over a year later, under warranty another identical leak on the opposite side of the dormer occurred. It was much worst. My ceiling was getting soft. Not wanting to delay the repair and not trusting Dan Fulmer, I called Allstate. They shoveled my roof and repaired it 2 days later. I contacted Dan Fulmer and asked them for their cost to repair. They refused any kind of payment, not even materials alone. A representative came out and saw my water stained ceiling and wall. Dan Fulmer did send painters out later to paint the damaged ceiling and wall. I have phone records and emails to verify my statements. :

Couldn't be better. They were on time, professional and cleaned up after the work was done. The windows look great. Price was comparable to quotes from other companies.

After 4 years, the roof leaked. It took months for them to come and repair the roof. I was told that they are not responsible for fixing the resulting stain on my ceiling. Even though it took months to repair the leak. The crew that repaired the roof, damaged the siding to the dormer. They fixed the siding. This winter, I got a very active leak in my ceiling under the warranted roof. I was in danger of losing a large section of the ceiling. Allstate came out and shoveled off the area needing repair and replaced the section a couple days later. They saved my ceiling. I didn't call Dan Fulmer right away becauseof their slow response and workmanship. I contacted them and they sent someone out several days later. I showed them the water marks on the ceiling. I asked them for "reimbursement for THEIR cost of labor and materials". They refused. This is the kind of company you are dealing with. Cost me $2000 for the roof repair. Again, I asked for their cost of labor and materials. Since they are not liable for damages to your ceiling, watchout. I almost had a major repair to my cathedral ceiling, which would have been my responsibility to pay. The roof was still under their 6 year labor and warranty.

They're well known, because they've been around forever. They do roofing and siding. When we needed somebody to remove the snow from our roof, we didn't want to go to somebody we didn't know. We wanted to go to somebody reputable, so we went with them. I figured they would know what they were doing up there and they did. We noticed there's a lot of houses around here who didn't do that. They just removed the snow on the roof. My only problem with them was I agreed to the price when I talked to them and had them come here. It was $300 total to get them here, being $250 to clean the snow off the roof, and they did it in less than 45 minutes. Then they charged $25 for every bag of salt that they put up there. I never would have this done, but I just had back surgery. We were going to have them a second time but it was going to be the same price. There were no special prices because we're now customers. I didn't know this until I got the bill, but they had a rubber stamp on the bill that stated that they were not responsible for any damage on the roof. That should be disclosed to customers in the beginning. I was not crazy about how they handled that. It did not seem professional to me and it did not seem upfront either. Their original contract said $250, since they did not know how much salt they were going to use. They never showed me the bags of salt either. I haven't been able to get on the roof and look at the job because of my recent hip replacement surgery. I checked prices with other people and their prices were about average, and they did remove the ice from the gutters. They weren't right on time, but they were here within a couple of hours.

The work was done over the Memorial Day weekend.  Therefore, the job took longer than normal because of a lack of workers. However, the material used and the workmanship were excellent.  No problems with the roof after 9 years.
Our next door neighbor had the same work done, at the same time, and I believe they were very happy with Fulmer, as well.

People in office were polite and helpful when first call was made to set up appointment to due the snow and ice removal. We were told what day the work was scheduled and the crew would call before they came or call when they on their way. After not hearing from anyone by late afternoon, I called the office to check on their scheduling and was told that they could not find a work order for my house they would have to check and call me back. The crew showed up at my door a little while latter with no phone call.  I discussed the work to be done with the job supervisor and informed him that our gutters were only a few months old and please be careful with the ladders and ice removal. He replied he would tell his men to be careful. The work took about an hour and when competed I  inspected the front only since the snow was so deep in the back and I was recovering from surgery.  I paid the bill which was as quoted.  After a couple of days a friend brought to my attention that the gutter in the back was dented possibly from a ladder. I called the office to see if I could speak to someone concerning the dented gutter but no one was available so I left a message to have someone return my call. When I did not hear back, I called again and spoke to a lady in the office and told her of my concern with the damaged gutter and asked if it could possibly be repaired.  She informed me no one was currently available to speak with me and she would make a note and pass it along to someone in the company.  I never heard back from anyone.

There was a disclaimer on a receipt sent to me in the mail awhile after the work was completed stating the company was "not Liable for any shingle or gutter damage caused by ice dams or the removal of snow and ice".   However, I think the problem was caused by improper use of the ladder in that one spot.  Bottom line is: a return phone call from a company as well known as this would have been appropriate, at least offering an explanation or having someone stop by to look at the damage. I told the lady in the office the best advertisement your company can get  is word of mouth; I guess they are so busy they don't worry about future customers.

Just for note, I picked this company from a referral by a friend.

The crew leader came to the door, introduced himself and they immediately got to work. They worked for an hour and 45 minutes straight clearing the excessive snow and ice off of my roof, including cleaning my front porch, sidewalk, and driveway of snow that had come off of the roof. Upon completion, he returned to my door to let me know they had completed the work and to go over the bill with me. They were completely professional, courteous, and pleasant during the time they were at my home.

Thank you Dan Fulmer Construction Company!
The investment we put into our home has paid off well. The roof you placed for us is beautiful with the architectural shingles.. As you suggested, we doubled our ice shield material, and we are not experiencing the issues our neighbors are having this year with ice damning and gutter damage. Many also had leakage during the couple of days when the ice began to melt.
Our utility bills were much lower during a devastating drop in temps during a record breaking month of February. We attribute this to the double hung windows we requested you replace, as well as our insulated garage door, and the blown in insulation.
Please know how much we appreciate being made informed as to how keep our home energy efficient. We are growing close to retirement and would like to afford ourselves as long as we may. to remain in our home.
Sincerely,Lauren Mussler

Mostly "OK". They showed up and did the job, took about a week in lousy weather. As far as the roofing is concerned they did an  OK job with the exception of using step flashing pieces to put together head-wall flashing in at least two places - and doing it badly. Hope it doesn't leak before I can get it fixed. Also did a poor job re-assembling siding in several spots. The workers were generally friendly and courteous.
Update 12/05/2014 - Upon further inspection, siding above sliding glass door had no fasteners, old nails were under the flashing pushing it out. Also, old fasteners that were partially pulled out when the workers pulled the siding off were left in place above the porch roof and above the bay window - flashing was jammed over top of these, forcing the flashing and siding away from the house. I did not call to have these fixed, I will hire a professional to fix what I cannot. I am of the opinion that if they were capable of doing it right the first time they would have. I am sorely disappointed, and will be having the entire roofing installation inspected ASAP.

GREAT!!!  They finished the job in three days.  What impressed me the most is the fact they'd start early in the morning (usually by 8 am ) and work until at least 6 pm.  Each day they brought the dump truck and COMPLETELY cleaned up all debri.  They were polite and professional.  I will use them again for other work that I need done.  You get what you pay for and this was worth every penny I spent.

He was very good.  They did a great job.  It looks beautiful.  I didn’t actually speak to them myself but from what I understand, they always get 3 estimates.  They ended up going with him.  The quality was excellent.  He was on time and he came when he said he was going to come.  I was very happy with it.  Whatever was done was done very well.  They showed up on time.

We have used them in the past for a roof job also. We were very happy with them. They are super paned windows, they kept everything clean, and they cleaned up after themselves, and we had a good experience. We have not had any issues with the windows.

I found myself with a sudden roof leak that caused a large chunk of ceiling plaster to fall in a spare bedroom. They came out quickly to give me an estimate and we scheduled the job to start in 2-3 weeks. This was on July 1st. We were told that we would be put on a priority list since we had an active leak and weren't just doing a cosmetic fix. I was worried about the leak because I was leaving town for 10 days and wouldn't be home to monitor the buckets I had catching the water. They came out the next day and secured a large tarp over the area. It rained right before my trip so I knew the tarp was doing its job. It rained just about the whole time I was gone and there wasn't a drop of water in my buckets. After a month I hadn't heard from them, so I called. They said they were backed up because of the previous rain and that it would be another 1-2 weeks. I asked them to adjust the tarp because I had a minor leak again and they came out that day to fix it. Finally, on Friday August 9th I received a voicemail from the owner that work would begin Monday morning of the 12th around 10am. I had 2 other jobs around the house scheduled for that day, so I called both of those tradespeople to postpone their jobs since the roof took priority and I didn't want everyone in each-other's way. On Monday morning, at 10am, the roofing supplies got delivered to my backyard. By noon, nobody had arrived to start work. I figured they would come after lunch. I finally called the office after 1pm. The roofing supervisor called back to tell me they were delayed and wouldn't start until Tuesday afternoon. I explained that I was waiting around to give someone a check so he scheduled to come pick it up at 2:30 that afternoon. I wasted most of my day and postponed the other jobs for nothing. Work started on Wednesday morning without any calls to tell me of the delay again. The roof was completed on Monday August 19th. I am extremely happy with the roof and the whole roofing system. I now have a roof that will stand up to the winters in Rochester. The total cost ended up $2,700 more than expected because they had to replace all the decking under the shingles. I knew this was a possibility, but didn't find out until I had to write out the final check. My biggest issue was their lack of communication thru the process and the fact that it took over 6 weeks to start the job when we were supposedly on a priority list. Also, at the end of the job there were 7 unopened packs of shingles left over. When the roofing supervisor came out to get the final check, I asked if we got any type of credit for those and he just kept saying that he always orders extra so they don't run out during the job. He left one pack with me for emergencies, but it's not like they expire or the company isn't going to use them on another job. We ordered a pewter grey color that I'm sure is fairly popular so it's not like they're going to eat the cost in the long run. After all the delays and lack of communication, this really bugged me more than it would have if everything else had gone smoother.
