"I can only give Paris Heating and Cooling 3 stars at this point, as I still have a minor gas leak going into my furnace that they installed a couple years back. A few days ago, I paid for a service call for them to repair and eliminate the gas leak. The technician stated to me that if it still leaks, that I should call RGE because his leak detector is not as good as theirs. He seemed to not have the confidence that it was fully repaired. Now I have to call RGE and be inconvienced with that whole process. Note: I have been a customer of Paris for over 15 years, and I hope they don't charge me again, and hopefully they have a technician that can eliminate the gas leak permanently."

"My old carpet was pulled out and new laminate was installed. The laminate looks great and was installed with lots of knowledge about how to do it without buckling. When we needed to build up the laminate height near the tile they did so in a gradual transition using the underwent padding to make it seamless. I am so glad they did my work for both quality and cost! I recommend them highly. Good people."

"I have always recommended John Carrol after he did installations in my home. A friend just asked me who installed my furnace, and I thought I should take the time to finally take action and give John the recommendation he deserves. John is very honest. I had two other companies come in to give me an estimate, but with John, you can tell he gives you an appraisal to inform you and help you make the best decision from options rather than to make more money for himself. I don't know how he does things now, but when he did the work for me I liked that he didn't just write up the job, he did the work himself. He spent a lot of time and he didn't rush the job. I feel he really tries to do high quality work and make you happy. I would never hesitate to call John Carrol again!"

"Very well. The installers did a great job. I have had a few issues this past year with a screen and a broken part on one window. Mike- who does their service- does a great job! He is very professional, prompt and conscientious."

"Doug Coons from do it all construction was very accomodating and was there in one day to start the job as promised. I was initially hesitant as his reviews on this site were not high but he pointed me to the homeaway site where most reviews were located and I could see he was indeed a professional in business. He even lended me tools for a porch repair as I am from out of town and had no tools. He cam back to install a trim piece that was not part of the roof install so it would look good. He turned out to be one of the most positive contractor experiences I have had and I have had quite a few since I flip houses."

"Dishwasher and ceiling fan service was wonderful. Garbage disposal is on its way, the shower fixture was a little messy and have to return 3 times to fix, pray its the last time. But not Choice Warranty's fault. Alittle pricey but allows you to pay them out."

"The florescent light fixture in my office is finally gone, and it was Paul and his team that defeated it!   I am a graduate student, so I spend a significant amount of time every day reading and writing.  Even though I had spent a lot of money turning the basement of my condo into an awesome n***-den, I ended up doing most of my work in the living room because the fluorescent light in that basement was just awful.
I called Paul at Exquisite Construction to see what he might recommend.  He had been out to my house before to offer an estimate on popcorn ceiling removal (something I am still going to hire him to do once I build the project budget back up).  From the start, Paul and his wife made a positive impression.  They were friendly, engaged, and genuinely excited about hearing and sharing ideas about my house.  The two of them are exactly like an HGTV show, just without the cameras. He took a look at the space and we kicked some ideas around.  I was leaning more towards installing a new "character" light fixture.  Paul recommended LED lights that sat flush to the ceiling, as they would provide more/better light (I think Paul recognized that my desire to make the space look cool was overpowering my desire to solve my initial lighting problem, haha).  We decided to do BOTH things and the result is just amazing.
Paul--as he did when he offered the quote on the popcorn removal--gave several different options and prices on the spot.  For $825, he and his team installed a new, bigger electrical box to handle the expanded lighting.  They moved it to a different point in the ceiling (to center the new "character" light fixture over my table-desk, which is the central feature of the office).  They installed the four LED lights and installed two dimmer switches, so the LEDs and the character light could be set/dimmed independently of each other.  Finally, they repaired the parts of the ceiling that they needed to go through in order to do the wiring.  They did all of this in essentially less than a day (they came at noon yesterday to accommodate my schedule, as I work nights on Monday and a Tuesday morning might kill me, haha.  They were able to do almost all of the work in 4 and a half hours.  They came back first thing this morning to wrap up the ceiling repair, which took them about an hour).
The end result is that my office looks amazing.  The new lighting, and the added control via the dimmer switches, transformed the space so much more than I ever anticipated, and that's all down to Paul and his team for both the quality of their work and their willingness to share ideas based on their experience.  I knew that I wanted to replace a light fixture.  Paul knew that it could be even better than that, and he made it happen.
I bought my condo in 2013, and I've been looking for a "go-to" contractor--someone who could handle different kinds of projects, did good work, and most importantly--someone that seemed trust-worthy.  Paul and his team are all of those things, and I hope to keep them busy with regular projects over the next few years.

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.
