"Joe called me almost immediately. In fact, he was the only one that called me of all the contractors listed for my repair. He helped me to diagnose over the phone and wanted me to check something before I spent money to have a repair call. I checked it. He had diagnosed it correctly and I was able to fix it myself. He followed up with text messages to make sure everything was good with my softener. Joe helped me to save money on a simple salt bridge I had not uncovered yet at the very bottom of my brine tank. He was more concerned about me than collecting money for a service call. But more importantly he gained a customer for next time and in the future. His time and service was invaluable to me. I highly recommend this company!!! Thanks, Joe!!!"

"VERY PROFESSIONAL- John has been our go to plumbing guy for years now. He has replaced kitchen faucets, moved the toilet in our half bath, replaced outdoor water spigots, replaced tankless water system and more. He and his team are dependable, honest and quick to respond!! John explains / shows what the issue was and what to do to prevent from happening again. I would recommend this company over and over again."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

It’s not a good idea to oversize your water softener. Doing so will mean the tank doesn’t get full, which can lead to channeling. This leads to a large portion of the resin beads not being utilized and the beads at the bottom of the tank being overused. Over time, this will reduce the efficiency of your system, not to mention that the upfront cost of an oversized softener is unnecessarily high. If you have a timed regeneration cycle rather than a demand-based one, you’ll also spend far more on replacing salt than you need to.

Drinking hard water is not known to have any negative health impacts. Using hard water can lead to dry skin and hair, and the minerals in hard water can build up in pipes, faucets, and appliances. Hard water is more of a threat to your plumbing than it is to your health.

Water purifiers and water softeners serve different purposes, so the best one will depend on your particular needs. Water purifiers remove contaminants from water (such as bacteria, viruses, and chemicals), leaving you with ultra-clean and safe water. However, water softeners remove minerals from your water so that the water doesn’t leave stains around your house or cause plumbing problems.

While it depends on how complicated the unit and installation is, it takes two to four hours to install a water softener unit, on average. It might take longer if pipes need to be replaced. You should make sure the installation area is clear of any objects that might get in the way before you begin.

It’s unlikely that hard water on its own could cause substantial hair loss or damage, though it’s true that bathing in hard water can cause your scalp to feel itchy or flaky and might dull your hair’s natural shine. Using high-quality shampoo and conditioner or buying a whole-home water softener can decrease these issues.
