Welcome to A Step Above Construction we specialize in decks all concrete,ceramic tiles all remodeling from bathroom to kitchen I am osha 30 certified and with fifteen years experience we look forward to working with you.
"They removed the door and c replaced with a new one. Before they put the frame they realized that sheet rock needs replacement and they said they cannot put the frame and then remove it again to fix the sheet rock. They said they will come back in Thursday. The owner texted me acting 240p when I contacted him asking what time they will be here to finish the job. He said he is coming himself to make sure the job is properly done. I didn’t hear from them until around 5:43pm he said he was caught in traffic and will arrive around 7pm and I told them it’s too late because I was going to sleep because I have to go to work tomorrow. That’s when I texted him that he should have told me earlier that they are going bit be late. That’s when we started exchanging texts which I posted on the website. I told him that that’s not right to do that to a customer. He said that I can keep the door and send me $20 for the frame. I paid him $700 for a $750 job and the job is not finished. Putting the shed rock he had said it will be extra $100 to make it $850 and he wanted all the money on Monday and I refused to pay all of it because I was afraid they might not come back and which I am now realizing that that’s what happened."

"Had multiple consults for our project, & no one gave me even close to the same level of personal attention as Nick Dattilo. Nick took the time to understand our vision, explaining through some of the logistics of accomplishing our goals, & even recommended some alternatives we never would have considered. The quality of that personal experience was enough to convince me he was the guy for the job. He & his workers were all very professional, & he took several mid-project requests or additions in stride, never making me feel as though I was an inconvenience. Communication throughout the process was great, & any delays due to materials, etc were always very transparent. The final product was better than I could have ever imagined, & the quality & attention to detail was impeccable. In the past when using larger firms, I often felt uncomfortable asking questions; feeling as though I was being viewed as a nuisance. The customer experience was very lacking, almost like a â Walmartâ caliber where our project was just another number. That couldnâ t be further from the experience we got from Nick & his team. After a week, I texted the guy that came to our house just to ask about the estimate and I gave him my email in case he needed it again. He responded with “ i do remember that, but I do believe I didn’t have your email and then I honestly probably forgot about it “ which honestly I can understand, nobody is perfect and I’m sure he is busy. He then said that he would Send it over that night as soon as he got back to the house. Unfortunately we never received an estimate."

If I can't do the job, I tell my customer up front and recommend another honest, dependable contractor. I do use subcontractors - BUT I am always on the job and I only use those who I have done business with for many years. I offer free estimates, but I do charge for written estimates. "The owner of Your Way Home Improvement came to give us an estimate on August 17th to inspect and repair our soffits to keep pests out. He showed us a piece of ripped off notebook paper with the estimate on it and asked for a $1,000 deposit for a job that would be approximately $1,900. Because we had had such a difficulty time trying to find someone to do the job, we foolishly wrote a check for the $1,000 without a formal contract. Mr. Hedrick told us that he would start the job either Friday the 19th or Monday the 22nd. The check cleared our account on the 19th but we still had not heard from Mr. Hedrick. On Monday the 22nd, I texted Mr. Hedrick to ask when he planned to begin work. He responded that he had just gotten his phone back, that his brother was helping him on the job because he had a truck to carry the equipment and it shouldn't be much longer. I thanked him and told him we were getting nervous; he responded that there was no need to be nervous. On the 25th I texted Mr. Hedrick again asking for a start date. He stated that he had just messaged his brother and would get back to us as soon as he received a response. On Monday the 29th I texted Mr. Hedrick requesting our $1,000 deposit be returned as soon as possible and we would find another contractor to do the job: no response. I texted again on the 30th and received no reply. Mr. Hedrick did respond to BBB stating that he would contact us to remedy the situation; I responded that all we wanted was our money back. No response to BBB following this. My understanding was that at one time he was a very good contractor; such a shame that this is no longer the case."
