Professional House Painter
About us
My name is Santiago Martin. I have been painting exterior and interior painting since I was a teenager helping my uncle restoring many styles of homes including colonial and Victorian homes. I had worked with various contractors for many years before I started my own business. This a family business focusing on homes Berkshire county & Northampton. I work with my son, Anthony. We have established professional relationships with many great customers and professional contractors. Our services go from just painting a door all the way to painting the whole house. We take a lot of pride in our customer service and like my son always says, "We paint every home as if it were our own." Please visit our website and find more about our work! See that we take pride in our work and really enjoy what we do for a living. We look forward to speaking with you about whatever paint project you have in mind. We give free estimates! Thank you for your interest.

Second step was to do the windows (this was the biggest part of the job). All windows had aluminum combination storm/screen windows screwed to the outside - the crew removed all these aluminum window frames before starting on the house windows. The house windows were scraped to remove loose paint and glazing, debris was vacuumed, windows were re-glazed as needed, and then painted with two coats of self-priming paint. Two minor concerns with this process: (1) They started the process by applying glazing compound directly to wood; I asked them to prime any raw wood before applying glaze and (I think) they ended up priming before glazing. (2) They completed most windows within a single day which meant the glazing compound had minimal chance to dry before being painted; the results look great so this shouldn't be a problem, but it did mean they were unable to clean the window up next to the new glaze and we have a lot of freshly painted, smudged windows. Not a big deal to us, but be aware this is a characteristic of this painter. All combination windows were reinstalled without incident. All in all, the windows really look good.
The final step was to stain the house and paint the window frames, soffits, etc. Everything was applied with brushes (no spray work) and it went great. We have some difficult places to reach (high peaks, areas over a glass solarium, etc) but they did everything from ladders. Everything was done in a professional manner, and the results for this "scrape and paint" job more than met our expectations.
A couple of things to keep in mind. First, this contractor expects you to provide the supplies (paint, stain and glazing). He will provide product selection guidance if asked, but you need to purchase the material and have it on-hand when he arrives to do work. Second, remember that these guys are painters, they are not general contractors or restorers. If you have damaged or rotted sections, they will paint the stuff but won't fix it. They did replace a couple of window panes for me and apply caulk to cracks, but don't expect them to tackle more serious problems.
In the past, I've painted my house and out-buildings. These guys did a far better job than I was ever able to do, and made less mess in the week and a half they were here than I do in a single afternoon! I'm pleased with the quality and value of their work.
The job was done in a quick and timely manner.
They were great. They arrived on time and got right to work, taking only very minimal breaks. The painting was very neat, with no mess. They were very pleasant to have around. The room(s) look wonderful. I was amazed that this work was done so quickly
.
I plan to call them again for any painting I need to have done.
Thanks, Santiago. You are the best!!! I can't wait for you to put the movable screens and plexiglass windows on the porch next spring. Brilliant idea!
I plan to hire them to do all of our future painting. At days'e end, we sat down and had a sandwich and drink together and they headed back to Pittsfield, over an hour away.
They are good men who do great work.
I very much enjoyed working with him and would hire him for other jobs.
Got a quote to do other painting and was very reasonable.
Asking if I had extra paint of the house color, he also offered to include small touch up on the house exterior as he identified places where the paint was coming off. As the rain had delayed many jobs, he asked for a two week window to which I agreed. He stayed in touch, (by phone and email), during that time to provide updates and kept his word about completing the job within the estimated time frame.
I would use this contractor again as Mr. Martin was professional, punctual and fair in price. We shall be using him again in the future.
I did not encounter any difficulties at all
"Thanks for the work it was fun to do your project, it very easy person to work .... my son Antonio and I enjoy working for you, and be more then happy to do more work for you ! Thanks!.. Santiago"
