"I had a terrible leak in my bathrooms in a 60 year old home. Mike over at Tumminello's quoted me an all-in price. Mike immediately realized I needed the lead pipes leading up to my toilet replaced. I knew as soon as Mike described what he wanted to do that is what I waned. Mike gave me an alternative, but I went with the full replacement choice. The other plumbers I called could only give me an hourly rate. The two guys that came to my home, Matt and Ryan, were very friendly and respectful. The work was quoted and done quickly and at a very reasonable cost. I had 2 toilets installed and leak fixed. I had my lead bends replaced; both leaked; both definitely needed replacement. Mike was very flexible on whether I wanted to install my own toilets or if I wanted him to pick them up. I told him the toilet that I was looking at, and he told me he could get a quote on a similar toilet. He saved me from having to order the toilet, and waiting a week over at HD or Lowe's. He called me back in about 10 minutes, we agreed on a toilet. My elderly father then decided he wanted his toilet changed too. I called Mike, and someone else answered, I told them I wanted to add a toilet, but with a rounded shape. The next day, Matt and Ryan arrived with both toilets. They did a great job on the toilets and the leak. I'm doing more work to my plumbing, and will definitely be using Tumminello Plumbing and Heating again. You can add three rotten tomatoes or 1/4 ounce of yeast to your septic tank to speed up the decomposition of sludge. You can add the tomatoes by way of your garbage disposal and the yeast by way of your toilet. You can do either of these additives once every three months as needed.

Pump the tank every 3-5 years, avoid flushing non-degradable items, and address leaks promptly to extend system life.

How do you set your well’s pressure tank? All you need to do is first drain the tank of water and find the pressure switch. Remove the switch cover and adjust the switch with a wrench—clockwise to increase water pressure, and counter-clockwise to reduce it. Each complete turn of the nut on the switch should equal 2.5 psi. Once this is done, replace the switch cover. All that’s left is to adjust the pressure of the tank itself using an air compressor and a tire gauge to support the new setting.

Bladder and diaphragm well pressure tanks are usually pre-charged at the factory. Even so, it’s important to check the air pressure in the tank using a tire pressure gauge on the relief valve. The instruction manual usually calls for 28 psi. Use a hand pump to add more air or release some air from the tank to reach the desired number. Check the pressure periodically to see if you need to add more air to the tank.

Think of a leach field and septic tank as the peanut butter and jelly of wastewater management. They go together. However, it is possible to have a septic tank without a leach field, as some types of septic systems don't require them. For example, your home may have a septic mound rather than a leach field or a sand filtration system, instead.
