"JB Asphalt. They farmed me out to a subcontractor, I guess, Frank Emmi (518-202-6160), who presented a business card with this company name. I was referred to the business owner, by the people who used to seal my driveway (hard working, trustworthy people). Josh never responded and sent Frank. The driveway looked good at first. Six months later, there are cracks on the side. Frank cashed the check so fast that the bank called to see if it was legitimate. I have been trying to get him to return to tamp down the ends for six months and now to repair and seal. Two appointments resulted in no show, no call. Frank does answer his phone or respond to countless messages left. Multiple phone calls and e-mails to the company result in no response. Once they have your money, customer service or any semblance of standing behind their work seems non-existant. I now have to pay a more reliable company to finish and repair their work."

If you over-trowel concrete, it will be difficult for moisture to move through it. For this reason, it may be worthwhile to hire a professional, especially if you don’t have the advanced knowledge and techniques required to avoid this issue.

You can dry pour concrete over existing concrete, but it’s best to use wet pour concrete instead. Dry pour concrete is easier to apply, but in order for new concrete to adhere to old concrete, it needs the right mixture for slow, uniform curing. Additionally, dry pour concrete is less durable and less resistant to cracking and concrete sinking, so dry pouring over an existing slab may result in surface imperfections appearing prematurely.
