"The owner Paul Grimmer is a crook. I paid him $24000.00 down to pour a 10000 sf driveway. The contract specified 4500 psi which is a more expensive, stronger mix. His first cement truck shows up and I asked the driver for his paper work. It was for only 4000 psi. Grimmer claimed is was a paper error. He ordered the concrete and he was caught trying to cheat me. He kept all my money and didn't pour a drop of concrete. A week later he buys a bull dozer. I had to hire a lawyer to recover my loss. This kid has no morals or integrity. "

Look for greener, lusher grass, as drain fields promote plant growth due to moisture and fertilizer. If your septic tank is still within its expected lifespan and you need to relocate it on your property, it's possible to do so. However, because the task is so labor-intensive and costly, most homeowners simply choose to abandon the old tank if possible and install a new system in the new location. There are three layers of wastewater in a septic tank: scum (solid waste that floats to the top of the wastewater), liquid (the relatively clean liquid wastewater in between the two other layers), and sludge (solid waste that falls to the bottom of the wastewater). The buildup of sludge is one of the main reasons septic tanks need to be pumped. If the tank is more than 1/3 of the way full with a combination of sludge and scum, it’s time to call a pro for pumping.

Adding a thin layer of dirt over a septic drain field is fine, especially if soil erosion has occurred. However, adding too much dirt can compact the soil, reducing the drain field’s ability to absorb and filter wastewater properly. Avoid using heavy clay soil, as it can prevent proper drainage. Instead, use a light layer of topsoil and plant grass to help with soil stability.
