"Loved it! they were here, They had everybody on the time that they needed it. When they are redoing my foundation wall, It was critical because the house was sinking so they have to level it."

"Great company to work with, very friendly knowledgeable people and customer satisfaction is their goal. Matt and his crew did a superb job restoring our finished basement after it got flooded when our sump pump had failed during heavy rains. Dual pumps were installed, along with waterproof and mold proof walls and flooring and a Sedona dehumidifier air purification system."

"It was a relatively daunting task to find, vet, and hire a team of foundation experts remotely, that could evaluate the job at hand while being able to start and execute on an expedited schedule. Unbelievably, with Eric Leach and company, I found that team. The job was not easy, the weather not kind to them with snow still on the ground, but they not only priced the project fairly ($7,500), but finished on team per his estimate. HIs professionalism and communication as a business owner is exemplary. I have given his information as well to my real estate agent who has already begun communicating to others in the area. Bottom line, I could not recommend a better company to do this type of work for your home. There is obviously a reason why he/company have such a high rating on HomeAdvisor. Eric - thanks so much for a great job!!"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

While it’s possible to seal a foundation yourself, it’s not recommended, as it’s a tricky and labor-intensive job. Foundation sealing is best left to the pros to save yourself time, remove the risk of doing it wrong, and keeping yourself safe. Call a foundation repair professional near you to see what the job will cost.

In most cases, a crawl space will not dry out on its own unless the moisture comes from an uncommon flood and isn’t expected to be a recurring issue. For most homeowners, moisture problems in the crawl space will only continue to get worse over time, so addressing the underlying problem with gutter systems or a foundation drainage system and setting up a preventative solution like a dehumidifier is necessary.

Plan on cleaning your crawl space at least once a year, though twice a year is ideal. During the cleaning, remove any debris or dust and check for potential issues like pest infestations or water damage. The sooner you catch these issues, the easier (and cheaper) it will be to fix them.

The best way to ensure the ground next to your home’s foundation drains properly is to divert water away from it as much as possible. While a flood wall can stop water from entering the house, gutters and spouts can help direct rainwater and melting snow away from the foundation. Keep your gutters as clear as possible from dead leaves and other yard debris so they can effectively divert water from your house. Add extenders to the spouts so the water runs out and away from your home, not into the surrounding soil.

A vapor barrier keeps moisture out of the crawl space, while insulation reduces the amount of unconditioned air—and sometimes moisture—that enters the space. Coupling a vapor barrier with insulation can help prevent humidity and related moisture damage in a crawl space while also making your home more energy-efficient. Just be sure to use insulation that won’t get damaged from moisture, like rigid foam board or expanding spray foam insulation.
