"My windows leaked air and my bedroom blinds needed to be replaced So I bought 2 new ones and also bought 2 kits to seal the windows. I used Angi previously and asked for a quote for a handyman to install and seal, T&S responded and sent a handyman to see what needed to be done. Quote was fair and I agreed. Handyman was able to start immediately and was professional did a great job. I would recommend them highly for any handyman type project."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

When hiring a professional for glass and mirror service in Brooklyn, avoid contractors operating without a valid city license or proper liability insurance. Reject any quotes lacking a detailed written contract or missing mandatory disposal fees. Watch out for professionals who dismiss permit requirements or pressure you to skip final inspections. In historic NY neighborhoods, a contractor ignoring landmark compliance rules puts your home at risk for stop-work orders.

Helpful?

After completing glass and mirror service in NY, retain all closed permits and historic district approval documents for your records. Test for drafts around the frames before the cold Brooklyn winter begins. Monitor new insulated windows closely during their first season, as early condensation indicates installation defects requiring warranty repair. Inspect exterior sealants every fall and spring to catch early signs of cracking caused by freeze-thaw cycles.

Helpful?

For glass and mirror service in Brooklyn, choose double-pane insulated glass units to meet NY energy standards and keep your brownstone comfortable. Use tempered or laminated safety glass for shower enclosures and doors to comply with city building codes. Select moisture-resistant mirror backing to prevent deterioration from coastal humidity. If you live in a historic district, confirm your material choices match required historic profiles before starting your project.

Helpful?

Brooklyn experiences severe temperature swings and coastal humidity that directly impact glass and mirror service. The frequent freeze-thaw cycles during NY winters cause sealants to crack and frames to separate. High humidity and salt air accelerate corrosion on mirror backings and metal hardware. Schedule exterior installations during the milder spring or fall months, as sealants fail to cure properly when temperatures drop below freezing.

Helpful?

Schedule glass and mirror service when you notice condensation fogging up between your window panes. In older Brooklyn row houses, winter drafts around the frames clearly signal failing seals. Look for black edges on bathroom mirrors, which indicates moisture damage from poor ventilation. After severe NY storms, inspect your ground-floor windows for micro-cracks or frame separation. Replace any glass immediately if you spot deteriorating glazing putty alongside peeling paint.
