"What an absolute DREAM! Correct Energy is an incredible company. Knowledge, professional and efficient! I contacted a few insulation companies but the proposed methods were not through. Correct Energy and especially Ray’s knowledge and experience were above and beyond. CE came out to assess and spent a generous amt of time explaining EVERYTHING. CE came when they said they would. The crew was professional and spent a few days here. They left everything immaculate. My place is old, built in the 1940’s so many challenges came up that they handled like absolute pro’s. Their work has and will continue to save so much on energy, the difference of before and after is immediate and drastic. I can’t wait for them to come back and do my basement next! I can't say enough about this company. Pros work here!!! Hire them!!! You will not be disappointed.."

"This company was a pleasure to work with. They built a deck for our swimming pool. They provided a professional proposal and drawing, worked with me and offered suggestions for the deck, and handled the permit process. Our new deck looks fantastic and is just what I had hoped for. The entire process was excellent from start to finish. I highly recommend Advanced Energy Advisors."

"Matt was exceptional. He did a great job. Mice in the attic. He secured the areas outside where the mice were getting in. Then he set traps and replaced a vent in the attic. His price was very reasonable and he offers a warranty. I would highly recommend Matt from Got It!!"

Small jobs welcome

"From the moment we met nick we felt comfortable. After my gf got taken for money from a contractor we were a little hesitant on trusting anyone again.. Nick gave us a quote for the job that we were very happy with. And insured us we would be very happy. And wow were we, nicks crew was amazing , friendly and cleaned up everything when do e. Can't say enough about nick and his team. This is how a business is supposed to be run. Don't even bother calling anyone else. They did an amazing job on our building and more importantly? Welcomed us like we were family during the process... 100 thumbs up. Chris and Christina"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, guiding choices between open-cell and closed-cell foams based on needs.

Single-pane windows might let in the cold, but if you’re not ready for a long-term solution or window replacement, there are quick fixes to keep your space warmer. Start by sealing gaps with weatherstripping or caulking around the frame to block drafts. For an extra barrier, apply window insulation film to the glass, trapping an air pocket between the film and the window. Thick curtains or thermal drapes can also help keep the chill at bay. And if you’re in a pinch and looking to get creative, bubble wrap can provide a surprisingly effective layer of insulation—just spritz the window with water and press it on, bubble side in.

In some cases, yes, insulating an unheated garage can lead to mold and mildew. The issue with insulating a garage is that the interior will warm up and cool down more slowly than the exterior air, which can cause condensation inside the space. Where there is moisture, there is likely to be mold and mildew over time. Installing a vapor barrier can help avoid moisture and mildew problems in an insulated garage.

The primary purpose of insulation is to maintain comfortable temperatures in a home, whether that’s cool air when it’s hot out, or warm air in winter, but that’s not all it can do. All options will also minimize heating and cooling needs, lowering both your carbon footprint and energy bills in turn. And some options, like rigid foam boards, even offer soundproofing benefits, too.

Plaster itself has a higher R-value than drywall. However, there are other considerations surrounding plaster and insulation. As a general rule, it's easier to obtain consistency in insulating value and quality when working with drywall rather than plaster. Plaster walls often don't contain any insulation behind the wall covering by design, and careful evaluation is necessary when choosing to add it.
