"I think they need to plan better for their workmen to get to site. It might be a one off but we had a van come from Bethpage out to Yonkers, when there is more than one office in the NY area...Friendly and professional and thorough. We ended up paying more than we thought but the chimney hadn't been looked at in quite a while by the previous owners, and there was obvious physical deterioration. They sorted everything including exterior brickwork and left the place tidy. I was pleased with the result."

"Joe had actually done some previous work with my husband for our fireplace and remembered the work. The service was, professional, prompt, done very well and he made recommendations that would save me additional cost in the future. "Eric and his team were great. They came in, saw the issue and offered a solution. No sales pitch. They repaired two chimneys and had to come back for a custom made chaise cover. They didnâ t charge until the job was done. Again no pressure. They cleaned up after the job and shared pictures of the repairs. I highly recommend them for any chimney repairs."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

An outdoor fireplace can add value to your home, with an estimated return on investment (ROI) of 56%. This luxurious outdoor feature will certainly appeal to buyers when the time comes to sell. And, of course, if you aren’t in the market, an outdoor fireplace will increase the livability of your home.

A chimney cleaning brick or log can help loosen creosote between professional chimney cleaning appointments. Although they can help keep your chimney cleaner, they are not a substitute for chimney sweeping and are not meant to be used regularly.

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.

The size of your pizza oven will determine the number of bricks necessary to build it. So the bigger your pizza oven, the more fire bricks you’ll need to purchase. Keep in mind that fire bricks cost about $3 each.

This will depend on the size of the pellet stove and how much of the house you’re heating, i.e. just one room or the entire house. Many pellet stoves use anywhere from 80 to 345 watts of electricity per hour. In terms of the pellets, a 40-pound bag can cost $5 to $9. A bag of pellets will burn for about 24 hours.
