My name is Timothy. I am 29 years old. I have been involved with different construction and labor trades since 2010. My primary focus is in carpentry. Mostly unfinished but I have experience with finish carpentry (stand alone cabinets, shelves, tables) as well. I got my start building picnic tables and lawn furniture as a teenager and progressed into deck building / refinishing as well as framing houses. I have a small business for my woodworking that is primarily using my creativity to make art with utility. For example, using recycled skateboards to make handles for hatchets and hammers, picture frames and more. I am also experienced in landscaping and lawn care. I can clean your gutters or put them up for you. If you need junk hauled or help moving, I would be happy to assist. I can assist with assembling different products such as tables, chairs, desks, bed frames, and also with installing fixtures, such as lights, ceiling fans. I have some dry wall experience and can patch holes, paint, caulk and seal your tub. I will be the first to let you know if I am not the right man for your job. I take pride in the work I do and I would rather turn a job down that I am not comfortable or experienced with, than to provide unsatisfactory service to a customer.

Dirty Werk Handyman Service LLC (Licensed and Insured) was formed in 2016 in an effort to provide any service required by Homeowners, Realtors, Property Managers and anyone else tired of having to do those nasty jobs around the home or office. Whether large or small we are a solutions based company skilled in all facets of construction, inside and out of your home. We look forward to handling all your "Dirty Werk" Brian Perry Owner/Founder

"STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. The company committed to do the work they were not capable of doing, and did not even have the legal right to do in California without a contractor's license. It was replacing deck railings and rebuilding a porch in South Lake Tahoe. The owner was polite and friendly before I started paying him the money, but totally changed later and kept demanding more money. The cost of the job, not too low to start with kept going up all the time, finally increasing by more than $10K. The owner would refuse to continue working if I did not pay more and more money upfront. He also refused to provide any receipts. After my single attempt to speak with the workers he snapped at me. The completion date was crucial in my case since I needed to finish the project before the winter season. The original completion date (end of September) kept moving forward as they worked very rarely and very short shifts (typically 10am to 3pm). During the entire course of the project there were constant excuses for not working (ill relatives, employees getting married, employees quitting etc.) Eventually the owner GUARANTEED the completion date of the project (mid-November) in exchange for an extra payment, but failed to deliver by the agreed upon date. I had to fire this company in the middle of November since I lost any confidence that the job would be completed and the quality would be acceptable. By the time I fired the company (3+ months into the project that was supposed to take less than 2 months): ■ deck railings were installed poorly - with a lot of cosmetic defects, uneven spacing and with a major safety hazard: they "forgot" to secure the top rail to the posts per manufacturers instruction; ■ the porch was demolished and the new one was not built. A crude frame was put in place but was so uneven and defective, it had to be rebuilt; ■ materials already paid for were not delivered (redwood), and the materials already delivered (trex flooring) were cut wrong and essentially destroyed. At that point I already paid this company $5000 above the initial invoice. The company owner disappeared and did not react to my request of a refund."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Schedule regular snow removal, apply salt or sand to icy areas, and mark hazards like curbs or drains.

You can use hot water to melt ice from your driveway, but there are some serious caveats. Very hot water can quickly melt ice and remove it, which is helpful if you’re very short on time and need a solution ASAP. However, it will only work across a small area, after which there’s a chance the water will freeze again. The sudden clash of temperatures is dangerous for fragile materials, notably windows and other glass, so you’ll want to keep the water away from your car.

Some commercial services use sand when clearing ice, but that’s to add instant traction, not to melt the ice. While you can scatter kitty litter, sand, or similar substances on steps, paths, or porches to improve safety during icy conditions, they won’t help melt hardened ice. Rely on salt or other de-icing methods to fully melt away stubborn ice.

Snow can be too heavy for a snow blower and cause clogs in the chute. However, having the correct type of blower for the snow conditions can reduce the chances of it being too heavy for it to handle. Another trick for preventing clogs is to make multiple passes while it snows rather than waiting for it to finish snowing.

It is not advisable to use salt on your roof to prevent or remove ice dams. It’s not only mostly ineffective but can also cause serious damage to your roof itself. Salt can rust metal, damage masonry, pit shingles, and cause runoff that’s damaging to plants and animals.
