"Chris, my tech, was very knowledgeable, respectful and professional. Unfortunately it took a little longer for him to procure the part......but he (Aire Serv) diligently, relentlessly tracked down the needed motor, and then Chris installed it as expeditiously as possible."

"Fine all the problem was was a dead battery. This is the third time I have used this company. Always show up for appointments. They have replaced an entire air conditioning unit and fixed a broken baffle. Both times the came other companies have tried to sell me over priced and unnecessary products . The time they fixed the baffle in my upstairs unit another company told me I needed to purchase an entirely new heating unit for over $5000. Bond heating repaired the baffle for under $400. It has been well over a year and the repair works fine.

"Mike from Fast Response came to my home. first thing, great guy. After Mike tested the small things, like fuse first. Would have been cheapest fix. but not. I finally decided to replace my unit. I got three estimates, $15,000 from a "big" name, $8000 and the fast response quote 0f $6500. While mike was figuring things out, we started talking about an old furnace I had in my home. I've had the gas shut off. Just needed someone to get it out of there for me. Mike said that they would take care of it. I ask how much extra? he said, none. I said ok. When all was said and done. New heat pump and an old eye sore gone. I believe they went above and beyond. But, that all being said I was told payment would be $180 a month. The payment is over $200. Not sure who to blame that one on. Bank or fast response? I would use fast Response again."

"I had issues with my heating/AC unit making banging noises when the heat kicked in. The unit was  over 30 years old and I feared it needed to be replaced. I contacted Ability (John) and we set up an appointment for a technician to come out. Sadly my fears were correct and the tech advised me that the banging noises were actually due to small explosions in my heater...kind of scary..
He gave me an estimate and I told him I didn't have the money at the time and would have to think about what to do. The tech advised me that since it was almost spring, the rates for heating units might go down in the near future, and stated he would call me if any specials came up.
True to their word, they did call me several times and we did end up coming to an agreement.
The techs came to my house at the agreed upon time, and were very polite, and proficient.
I am very happy with the service I received, and would definitely use this company again.
In addition, they have followed up by sending me letters with offers of specials on the services they provide.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs HVAC service.

"Bishop Air Service did a good job on cleaning our system. I don't know much about heating systems but I do think that they did everything right. I have not had any problems with the system. The reason that I didn't give them a perfect score is because no one does a perfect job."

"he was on time, very helpful, did the work, explained what he had done and gave me an estimate on having the heating ducts done later. (I asked for the estimate, but didn't have time to do it then) I will call them back to do it.

"It went well. It's just that the guy was kind of stubborn and wouldn't listen to us. When he was taking the toilet out, we just kept asking him to wrap the bottom in a trash bag. He was going, "Oh, it's fine. It's not going to leak. It's not going to leak." We kept giving him trash bag saying, "Please." He just ignored the trash bag and took it out to the curb and it just leaked toilet water all throughout the house. It was just him, his attitude. We kept trying to tell him to do it and he wouldn't listen. He goes, "I do this all the time. It's not going to leak." And then, when it leaked all over he is going, "Oh, that's clean water anyways. That's clean water." It was coming from the bottom of the toilet and you can't clean that part. It was $200 for the toilet, installing it and price of the toilet. He said it was additional $60 or $70 to install the water shut off valve. I thought the toilet was okay but the valve was over priced. He showed up on time."

"TIm recommended a company from which to purchase the flooring. They sold an inferior quality of flooring to me and Tim went with me to return the flooring. Then he went with me to Home Depot and recommended another brand. I subsequently purchased the flooring from them and he installed it in my kitchen. It looks great. He also installed a shower head in my bathroom. It works perfectly."

"I purchased this service through an Angie's Big Deal for cleaning the glass, tune up, and safety inspection. The work was done plus the technician, Fernando, fixed a problem with the flame going out. The cleaning fixed some clogged gas nozzles. He arrived on time and was very efficient (whole job took less than 30 minutes). I am very happy with the service and would use them again.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Since your boiler keeps you warm and provides hot water to your home, you’re likely to notice issues with heating in your living space right away. The most obvious sign that your boiler is breaking is not getting any heat or hot water. You might also hear some odd sounds coming from your boiler during operation, the flame in your gas boiler is not blue, the pressure is inconsistent, or your boiler is using more energy than it should. If you notice any of these signs, be sure to call a pro right away.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

Steam boilers require flushing at least every six to 12 months to keep them operating effectively for as long as possible. Depending on your water quality and frequency of use, you might need to do this more frequently. The flushing process helps to remove problematic buildup of sediments. While a boiler contractor near you can perform a thorough annual flush, learning how to drain the system yourself means you can do this monthly if you experience speedy mineral accumulation because of hard water.
