"Thank you Home Advisor for recommending these wonderful guys! They are spectacularly reliable, hard-working, professional, capable & talented, and we are extremely glad that we hired them to do our job. Honestly, if you want a great job done without any worries choose M & M Excavation and Landscape Services. They have installed a paver stone patio, a painted, custom pergola, rebuilt part of our wood fence, built a new wood gate, replaced a wood post for the iron fence in the rear, ordered all necessary materials and had them delivered (no fuss for me!), installing irrigation for landscape, etc. Everything perfect and Matt always has a smile. I would give them 10 starts, if I could!"

"We initially hired Chris to finish a small bathroom remodel, including installing new shower panels, new vanity countertop, new sink and some drywall repair. He did an amazing job, took his time and really paid attention to the details. The bathroom looks amazing thanks to him. We also hired him to install some new interior doors and a new swamp cooler. Chris stayed till every detail was taken care of and the job was complete. Highly recommend & we will hire him again!"

"Steve and his team were timely, efficient and thorough. As a professional in the construction industry, I was very impressed by he and his team's attention to details, and getting the "small things" right, which makes a huge difference for the owner and future technical workers. I personally walked down the site at various stages of the work, and was impressed with how they maintained a clean and orderly site, which for me is a leading indicator on overall quality. Without a doubt, I will hire Steve and his team for my future civil and related work!"

Hi there! We’re Ball Grading & Excavating, a proud family-owned company based in Northern Nevada. We specialize in excavation, grading, pad building, trenching, and concrete work for residential and small commercial projects. We got into this business because we love working hard, being outdoors, and helping our neighbors lay the groundwork for their homes, shops, and dreams. There’s nothing better than leaving a job site clean, level, and ready to build, knowing we did it right. We’re licensed, honest, and built on family values. When you hire us, you’re getting more than equipment, you’re getting a team that treats your property like it’s our own. We appreciate the opportunity to earn your trust and your business. Let’s move some dirt!

A crawl space can be as little as 42 inches below the grade of your house, but this is not always recommended in flood-prone areas. At a minimum, there must be at least 16 inches of clearance between the ground and the floor joists to access the space in an emergency.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

The best method for digging a trench depends on the scope of the project. For a short, shallow trench (less than 2 feet deep) in light, soft soil, digging by hand may be sufficient. However, digging by hand is labor-intensive, so consider the effort required. A machine trencher is the better option for longer trenches (over 100 feet), deeper ones, or when dealing with difficult soil conditions, such as rocky or hard ground, or obstructions like tree roots. A machine can save significant time and energy in these situations.

After you successfully remove your boulder, you have a few options for what to do to get rid of it. You can rent a dumpster if your yard has many boulders or if you’re planning a larger project. You can even save the boulder and reuse it elsewhere on your property to save on landscaping costs. A few ideas include using the boulder as a natural, abstract statue, breaking it into smaller pieces to line your garden bed, or offering it to a landscaping company that could reuse it for another project.
