"This was a trial job before a potential kitchen removal. It involved moving our boiler a short distance, walling off the area, fixing the floor, some electrical. The Babcock family themselves professional but didn't follow thru with the subs. The subs were only concerned with doing the fastest, cheapest job they could do (classic example is on the plumbing rework, the plumber substituted PEX for copper and the former isn't rated for the latter job)."

"The communication with the estimator who presented a complete written estimate, and with the workers was excellent and consistent throughout the project. I found that to be most satisfactory. The kitchen cabinets were refinished excellently, the counter top required special fitting and turned out beautifully. All the completed project with its many parts was addressed and completed to my satisfaction. Additionally the cooperation in use of masks and care of the working space was very well addressed. "The technician arrived promptly. We walked through the house to look at what was to be done, and I provided him with a written list (which I never saw again). The actual patching was very well done, but the texturing on about half the patches was not very good. I felt the need to remind the technician about some of the patches, and I had to touch up about three of the deeper patches later. Cleanup was reasonably well done with a broom and dustpan, except for one of the patches where there were bits of old drywall left on the floor. After I vacuumed, all was again in order. I had the feeling that the quality of cosmetic work became lower as time went on. In summary, the structural part of the patches was very well done, but the cosmetic part of the job was not. "

"When I called them, they told me that they couldn't make 2 trips to my house because it cut into the cost (although I told them I wasn't sure what I needed to fix up my deck). When they got to my house, they told me that I needed to go to Lowes and buy the sealant. They told me what to buy and how much. I had to leave them alone in my house while I went to pick it up. They put in some screws while I was gone and then painted the deck with the sealant. I guess I would have done it myself and saved a lot of money if I would have known what my deck needed. The deck hadn't been cleaned prior to the sealant but I only had them for the one afternoon and so I had to have them do it then. The job itself was done OK. I learned that if I do something like this again, I will make sure that I know exactly what I need and have the right materials and see what's involved in the labor. Actually, I will just do it myself and save the money. "
