Ramón did an excellent job installing a new furnace for a reasonable price. He was patient, answered all my questions, and found a smaller furnace the size I requested. He was punctual, careful to clean up, efficient, and friendly.
I wanted a smaller furnace because the 50-year-old dead furnace (100,000 BTU input/70,000 output) was oversized for the square footage of the fairly well-insulated house (1,100 sf) with a 33,000 BTU load demand (or less during mild winters).
Sun Rays got me the furnace I wanted and installed it efficiently and on time, just before the winter temperature headed toward zero.
I am very happy with Sun Rays' workmanship and professionalism. I can highly recommend Sun Rays.
Here are my calculations based upon the technical specifications of the Armstrong A802V070 Two-Stage Furnace (with an ECM variable stage blower motor and an 80% AFUE efficiency rating)
66,000 BTU/Hour input = 52,000 BTU output (66,000 x 80% = 52,000 BTU output)
Two Stages: Low Fire is 67% output & High Fire is 100% output
34,000 BTU output (52,000 BTU x 67% stage 1 low-fire setting)
33,000 BTU load (30 BTU/sq ft (8 ft. ceilings) x 1,100 square ft. house)
So, the house load (heat demand) of 33,000 BTU is perfectly matched to the stage one, low-fire, 34,000 BTU output. In the case of an extremely cold winter, stage 2 high-fire will provide up to 52,000 BTU output.
I did not go for a 98% efficiency furnace for these reasons:
1) higher initial purchase cost and,
2) 98% furnace requires drainage for condensation (a design problem for our particular furnace placement), and
3) relatively small savings given small size of house and current cost of natural gas. If I was on propane, the economics would justify a 98% furnace, especially since NM Gas Company is giving rebates for their installation, until March 31, 2016.

From first contact to last they did a great job fast and affordable, the new furnace and cooler are quieter and the house is much cooler and our utility bills are much lower, they also installed a new kitchen hood system and a great stainless steel backsplash.
