"At the end of March, I purchased a water heater from Daniels Plumbing and Heating. The total cost was three thousand dollars, which included install and warranty on parts and labor for one year. At the four month mark I noticed an order from the hot water, called hydrogen sulfide, it is the result of hot water sitting in the tank too long. On Monday, 8/14, I called Daniels and set up a service call. The plumber arrived, drained the hot water tank and refilled with fresh water which seemed to diminish the odor from the water considerably. The plumber said I would also need the replace the anode rod located inside of the water heater, unfortunately, I’m told neither the anode rod or labor is covered under the warranty? This water heater is four months old? He said he would order a replacement rod and call to schedule a time for install. The cost would be approximately three hundred dollars for parts and labor. I told him I was baffled as to why this was my responsibility since I had a warranty, the rod is located inside the unit and unit was four months old. I spent the next two days calling Daniels trying to find out why this repair on a new unit is my financial responsibility, I also asked if they could give me a list of items on the hot water heater NOT covered under the warranty, I did not receive and any response but a copy of the original invoice which contains one line, “Warranty- 1 year labor and 6 year limited manufacturers parts warranty”. I called the manufacturer and explained my problem, they shipped me a replacement aluminum anode rode at no cost? That call took me five minutes. This is the result of being have been a loyal customer of Daniels Plumbing and Heating for ten years. I have tried five times to get some resolution on the issue, the last response was there were no managers on location and none would be back for another week?"
