"APH&C came originally to repair a leaking internal sewer pipe that had flooded a basement in an approximately 90-year-old downtown house. They were called out after hours, came promptly, and made arrangements to return next day. The water service had already been turned off at the street. Two men returned on time, fixed the leak, and began work on installing a replacement water heater. As is common with old houses, problems were soon encountered: the chase (vent) had been installed backward. They worked steadily on the job for several days. In the midst of this, the basement flooded again from a new leak; thereby, establishing the need for a full redo of the old interior sewer pipes (iron) and a modification to the exterior clean outs and connections. Despite APH&C's heavy existing workload, they continued on with this new work. Once again an old house problem turned up: the back bathroom had no vent. Fixing it required putting in two new clean outs/connections. In the process they also repaired a leaking hose bib installed in the back wall of the house. Despite the problems encountered, there was no change to the original estimates. Given the state of the sewer lines in front, they also checked (camera) the sewer line going to the back house and on to the alley. It's pipes proved to have several offset connections and some obstructions. That work will be done later. I was impressed by the willingness of the workers to answer questions and explain plumbing facts. The lead plumbers carefully instructed the apprentices on tips and problems. They treated both their fellow workers, myself, and the tenants with consideration. They took care to protect the interior surfaces of the house and to clean up after themselves. With a few exceptions, they were remarkably free of both a "smooth marketer" and bullying attitudes--more so than other large companies I've dealt with. They did all they could to keep the tenants comfortable. I was also impressed by their ability to fit this constantly expanding job into their existing workload and do it during the Xmas holiday season (the job ran from Dec. 10 to Dec. 26, 2019. They promptly supplied me with copies of all permits and maintained a good relationship with the city inspectors. Overall, at least ten men worked on the job, of whom JJ and MIck McG were especially outstanding--for their attitude toward the clients, their fellow workers, and their company. APH&C keeps in touch with its customers by phone and by e-mail. I did feel a little bombarded by the e-mails, wishing for instance, that they wouldn't mail me to say a technician was on the way even as I was called with the same message. I also was a bit confounded by the number of e-mails from the billing department. That problem was resolved by my requesting one e-mail listing all the final charges, which was cheerfully supplied. Yes, I got grouchy as the work multiplied, but they didn't, at least not with me. Their training system is good."

"Was in need of plumbing work and repair that was part of a water heater failure that also caused damage. Called and asked if they service our area, they said they did, and I asked to have an estimate. After several calls, we succesfully arranged for the plumber to visit, and Jorge & Brad arrived as scheduled. Both Jorge & Brad seemed knowledgeable and responsive. They said there would be no charge for the estimate and they would prepare it for me to receive by the following week via email. More than a week later, no estimate had I seen. Had to make multiple phone calls to find out where the estimate was. After more than a week of phone calls & promises of return calls that they never fulfilled, the person answering the phone (Karesse) said that Jorge had sent the estimate to a "VP for approval." To my surprise, I got a phone call the next day, but it was just Karesse again to say that they were looking into the matter and were going to get to the bottom of where that estimate could be. This sounded good, but resulted in nothing at all working with Roadrunner. After another week had gone by, more phone calls resulted in being told the same thing again and again, with no one stepping up to be responsible nor actually get the estimate to me. I requested to speak to a manager and was told no one was available to speak with me. I asked for a manager to call me and put a condition on it, "if they actually care" to fulfill on having our business and doing what they said they would do. Already a month went by without the estimate, and the last time I spoke with Roadrunner, all I got was one last phone call from Karesse saying that this was important for them to resolve so they would call the next day. I never heard from Roadrunner that next day nor ever again and never received an estimate. It is clear they do not value customers and do not know what integrity is nor what it is to fulfill on the basics of being reliable service providers in our world. Not recommended as reliability to deliver on services and customer care are not what they are up to."

We received our order, which was everything for the kitchen and two bathrooms, complete renovation, and the only thing that was correct was the kitchen faucet and the bathtub. My wife and I were extremely adamant about the bathroom fixtures being matte black and the sales woman ordered all stainless steel. The kitchen sink was suppose to be center drain but we received right drain. We asked for 2 bathroom sinks and she ordered one. Almost the whole order was not entered correctly. Serves me right for trusting a charismatic, what we thought was a very diligent and caring sales person and not going over all the product codes with a fine tooth comb when we made the purchase. On the order form, there is only the product code with no description of the product. I just assumed she entered them correctly. So needless to say it was all our fault for not entering every product code from the manufacturer on the internet when we got home to make sure everything was correct. At no point was it the sales persons fault according to them. Then they tell me it will be an extra $600 if we want the stuff we thought we were ordering in matte black. I’m returning everything minus the tub and the rough in stuff because all that has already been installed and taking my business elsewhere and I strongly suggest you do the same. We are no longer able to move into our new home before my wife has our second child due to this negligence. I would give them zero stars if that was an option."

"This was amazing! I had no idea this service existed. After searching and contacting various repair places for my washer, this was the most cost effective option. I figured if it didn't work, my machine is old and I would be out $40, not the $100+ to have a tech come out and just diagnose the problem. I am pretty handy and my washer is old anyway, so if it is broken, I have to get a new one anyway. My tech, Steve, was great! He predicted what was wrong after listening to the machine, calmly walked me through dismantling the machine and when we got down to the motor, he was right! He sent me a link to the part I would need, and let me know to contact them again if I needed help installing it. My machine works even better than before it broke, its beautifully quiet and efficient. I will definitely be saving this company for any future repairs on appliances I may need.
