Small jobs welcome

"We hired Do-Moore Home Improvements for a bathroom remodel (x2) and were immediately impressed by their work ethic, craftmanship, and reasonable price quotes. We received several estimates for the job and Do-Moore stood out the most. We were so pleased with their outstanding quality of work and professional style that we hired them for many more jobs on the project, to include dry wall, mud texture, interior painting, wood vinyl flooring throughout, kitchen tile backsplash, and trims throughout (baseboards, door casings, and ceiling crowns). They are dedicated to ensure timely work completion, and always left a neat and tidy work space. They are true artists and it is evident that they take pride in their work. We highly recommend this experienced team of entrepreneurs."

"We moved to Santa Fe from lush green northeast about a year ago. We looked at landscaping professionals on the net and found Summersweet, wanting to create a patch of green for our new house. Meeting Eric, we were struck by his certitude about the design of the garden and what would thrive in the Santa Fe climate. Eric's design of the garden and the execution of his concept was flawless. He created an oasis in the desert for us with flagstone courtyard and a water feature and a xeriscape in the backyard. Eric's crew were exemplary in implementing his ideation into a reality. They were professional and very easy to get along with. We highly recommend Summersweet landscaping for your projects. You will be delighted with the outcome."

Customers say: Quality work

"Working with Chuck and Jose has been awesome. We started our journey by having a pool installed in our back yard by Leesure Pools. We then had a landscape architect draw plans for both back and front yard incorporating the pool. This allowed us to get landscaper quotes using the same drawing. Lifescapes Landscpaping was selected. Working with Chuck and Jose yielded a great surprise. Chuck took our two dimensional drawings (that cost $800) and turned it into 3 dimensional PDF (at no cost to us before we even selected them). This sold us and we saw problems with the $800 paper design that we didn't see before. The landscape elements that Chuck and Jose did are as follows: Concrete walkway/driveway Brick patio/walkway indoor fire place Stucco whole house Gravel Custom Pergola with swing Custom fencing with gates Custom porch T&G ceiling Custom Corbels Metal roof Light fixtures Lanscape lights Grass lawn Sprinklers and drip Landscape plants. Painting This company did anything we threw at them and at a reasonable price. They stayed within budget and put features in that would have cost more. Jose was very patient with our design demands. Jose used pictures given to him of porch covers an pergolas to bring Chucks 3D drawings to life. The results are everything we hoped for. Well done guys!!!"

"Pluma was an excellent company to work with. Work was completed within 1 week of estimated time and included new windows and french door installation, replacement of 3 windows, retexture and paint ceilings, new flooring, new cabinets, new baseboards and painting throughout. Work was excellent and Julio was an amazing worker! He never did things that were less then satisfactory and often went the extra mile! My new kitchen, living area and laundry look incredible!! Overall fair value for work completed, will recommend to others and will likely hire for our future projects. Thank you!!!"

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

Quartz countertops are not recommended for outdoor use. While durable indoors, they are not designed to withstand outdoor conditions like sunlight, weather, and high heat from barbeque grills. Exposure to these elements, particularly UV rays, can cause the resins in the quartz to break down, leading to discoloration and damage to the surface. For a longer-lasting outdoor countertop, it is better to choose a natural stone like granite, which has greater resistance to these elements.

If you plan to have a refrigerator or other appliances that require electricity, you will need an electrical outlet in your outdoor kitchen. Be sure to comply with all National Electrical Code® (NEC®) codes for electrical wiring and outlets in kitchens. If you do not plan to install a refrigerator or any other appliances that require electricity as part of your outdoor kitchen features, then you do not need to install electrical outlets. However, it is a good idea to install at least one electrical outlet should you decide to use any appliances that require electricity.

While it is possible to do this kind of project at any point in the year, save it for the mildest parts of winter if you can. That way, your backyard won’t be under construction during prime grilling season. Plus, contractors tend to be less busy on outdoor projects then, so you might get a better deal and the installation might take less time.

Pallet wood can withstand all kinds of outdoor weather conditions, which is part of why pallet fences are so appealing to DIY-ers. You can weatherproof the wood further before you paint or stain it, as well. Pallet fences are low-cost, easy to install, and can withstand sun and rain exposure without rotting.

You can call a second kitchen many different names—butler’s pantry, scullery, prep kitchen, working kitchen, dirty kitchen, or even just second kitchen. In modern times, however, second kitchens are almost always called prep kitchens or small kitchens. However, the purpose of a second kitchen remains the same—prepare food and clean items “behind closed doors.”
