Customers say: Quick response

"Troy & Devin fixed my bedroom ceiling (there was a gap when the house settled & my ceiling began to sag). They removed and replaced my window sills and frame (water damage due to rain & weather), drywall, texture & paint. Troy replaced my celing fan, mounted my tv, replaced my curtain rods, door and lock. Loving my bedroom!"

"We had multiple quotes for new windows on entire home. Tonya with Champion Windows gave us a quote and was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on their products. She showed us what sets Champion apart from other window competitors. The quality and craftsmanship of product offered was very impressive. Top 3 selling points for me (in order) were: 1. Made in USA and U.S. owned product, I currently serve in the military and this is very important to me. 2. Lifetime warranty with excellent terms of warranty, better than all other quotes we received. 3. Value and quality, everywhere else had either quality or value (cheaper build). If you wanted quality alone you will pay a premium. Champion offers a premium product at a reasonable price and value. For all our searching I believe we are getting all we looked for at good price. Piece of mind is the warranty. I am a very competitive shopper who looks for quality without breaking the bank. Will update review upon completion of installation. Thank you Champion! Sincerely, Lew M."

"Great -- I have a large window (~3'x6') that sits at an angle over a garden tub that was leaking and needed to be replaced. I hired Just Stucco and Windows based on all the positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. They were always prompt, professional, and polite, and did a fantastic job on the window installation as well as the stucco repair around the window -- the color and texture is such a close match to the existing stucco you can hardly tell any work was done. Unfortunately, due to the slope of the window, water collects in the recess between the window pane and the frame and has nowhere to go, so it leaked shortly after installation (where the glass meets the frame). I called James and they came out to recaulk the window. Although it hasn't rained since then, I'm not sure if it will leak again, but I'm 100% confident that if it does they will come right and to make it right. Thank you James and your staff, I will definitely call you in the future when I'm in need of window and/or stucco work."

"Went well, definitely happy with the product and quality. Felt like the project took a bit longer than we thought it would, but we knew there was a lot of work to be done. Ruele worked with us to do some remodeling to get to what we wanted, whereas other people only told us what they were willing to do. Staff was very friendly and nice to be around. House and windows look great!"

"Mark came up to provide the estimate. He was very knowledgable, very professional, and very personable. We discussed the different types of film and came up with what would work best for my house. After Mark left I changed my mind on what type film would go on what window and Mark quickly made the changes. On the day of installation, I was notified that the installation crew would be arriving later than planned, but they arrived only a bit later than originally planned. The crew was very professional, efficient, and very friendly. The installation crew were constantly cleaning up after themselves and left the window areas extremely clean. I was super pleased with this company and and their installation crew.

"

About half of our kitchen and half of the utility room had become bowed by water leaking under the floor from a water heater.  We discovered the water heater leak and replaced it, but were not aware of the extent of the problem. No one wanted the job!  It wasn't big enough for them. Ramon Acosta of D&R Services determined the extent of the damage and gave us a fair estimate. His team obtained the floor covering we selected and did a beautiful job of putting it down covering both affected rooms after replacing the floor itself.  There was also damage to a door jam that required additional structural work, which they also handled. They cleaned everything up and left nothing for us to have to do ourselves.

"Bottom line up front: Another review was posted on my behalf by Angie's List and is inaccurate; was for another vendor unrelated to Fair Claims Contracting. My apologies. Fair Claims Contracting performed the work in a timely and expert manner. I'd recommend this company for anyone requiring roof work. A+"

Glass and Mirrors questions, answered by experts

You should dust your mirrors once every one to two weeks as a part of your normal cleaning routine, and you should plan on cleaning with a glass cleaner or DIY cleaning solution once a month or so. This will help reduce the buildup of hygiene products like hair spray on the mirror, as well as oils and dirt from fingers. You can always spot-clean between regular cleanings if you notice your mirror getting dirty or smudged.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

You can hang bathroom mirrors in either orientation—vertical or horizontal. Factors like the bathroom layout, lighting design, vanity size, and mirror shape and size may make one orientation more practical. For example, a tall vanity with a tall faucet and low-hanging light fixtures may force a horizontal orientation for a rectangular or oval-shaped mirror. Looking at bathroom mirror ideas can help you decide which you like best.

There are a few reasons your mirrors might have smears on them after cleaning, but the two most likely are remaining cleaning product and minerals from hard water. If you used a commercial glass cleaner, consider spraying down the mirror with a 1-to-1 ratio of white vinegar and water after cleaning and then wiping it dry with a cotton cloth. If you suspect hard water is the issue, use a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol to spot-clean the streaks, and then let the mirror air-dry.
