"My wife and I were very impressed with the price and service that Desert Oasis provided.  The workers were all courteous, and they had the best price (by a couple hundred dollars) of any aborists we consulted in Las Cruces.  While they were trimming, they climbed the tree with ropes, instead of spikes, so as to minimize the damage to the tree.  They were also careful to lower the branches so they did not hit our wall, power lines, or house.  Though they were careful, they were also quite efficient.  Finally, they did an exceptional job of cleaning up and removing the fallen branches when they were done. 
Before and after the work was completed, we were given very useful advice on how to ensure our tree remains healthy (watering, fertilizer, etc), and the owner (Larry) has an excellent scientific understanding of trees.
All told, we would highly recommend Desert Oasis for anyone who needs their trees trimmed.  Next year, we'll likely have them trim our other mulberry tree.
One final note:  All three workers smoked regularly while they were trimming the tree.  If are allergic to cigarette smoke, you might take that into consideration.
