He was extremely terrible with communication, very inconsistent with delivering on what he says he will do, and his work is hardly quality, and uses damaged parts. We agreed on a $4k job and Jeremy showed up 1st two days with guys, and the rest of the way he comes alone, at odd times of the day and moves at snail pace, complaining that the guys he brought aren't working hard enough. He anticipated 1.5 weeks on the job...over 6 weeks ago. After 3 weeks of no call no show, I had to give the work to someone else. Did a bit more research...his license has expired, he turned off reviews on Facebook so you can't see what others are saying, and he has no track record of "great customer reviews" you can find online. Gladly taking my $$$ elsewhere where I can get results and a completed job. Just upset over the wasted time."

St. Augustine is a hardy grass that’s relatively easy to grow, but it requires regular lawn maintenance to stay healthy. First, make sure you’re watering your grass early in the morning (and keep in mind you don’t have to water every day). Doing this helps ensure the water is able to soak in before the hot temps evaporate all of the water. Also, when you mow, don’t mow your grass as short as you would in non-drought conditions. Taller grass can help slow down the rate at which soil dries out. Finally, take your leftover lawn clippings and spread them out across the lawn to give it a little extra shade and nutrients.

Aeration can level your lawn if the issue is minor soil compaction, so it can help smooth things out if your yard is bumpy from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. However, it won’t slope your yard. If you have small areas where water seems to pool after precipitation, aeration could help, but larger issues with improperly sloped lawns and problems leading to foundation leaks or structural damage will require more comprehensive solutions.

Aerating a lawn before seeding it or adding new grass seed is a smart decision. By loosening up compact soil and allowing it to take in more air and water, your seeds will have an easier time establishing roots and growing. Aerating beforehand also means your seeds will have better contact with the soil, so more of your seeds have a chance to germinate. If you do plan to aerate your lawn before seeding, aerate about two days before you plan to start seeding.
