"I found 3 Brothers Marble & Granite Fabricators on Google while searching for a company to help with my project, and it ended up being the best decision I could have made. From the beginning, their customer service was excellent. They were very professional, responsive, and took the time to answer all my questions. The team made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The quality of their work is truly impressive. Everything was done with great attention to detail, and the final result was perfect and impeccable. You can tell they take pride in their craftsmanship. Whenever I had a question or needed something, they were always there to help and guide me. It’s not easy to find companies that combine great service with such high-quality work. Customers say: Quality work

"We hired Ernest and Sons to construct our patio tiles. We purchased 2' X 2' Tiles and I have to say they did a gorgeous job. I was so pleased with the way they showed up when they said they would. The men that laid out on my job worked so hard. The labor was very strenuous but they never took a break. They were the most conscientious and polite workers I've ever dealt with. They worked neatly, cleaned up totally afterward, and just had a great deal of respect for our property. They really did a beautiful job and Ernest, the owner is a real gentleman also. Love this company!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The frequency for sealing marble countertops depends on several factors, including the quality and color of the stone, the type of sealant used, and the amount of traffic the surface receives. Marble has a porous surface that requires sealing to maintain its shine and resist scratches. As a general rule, you should seal countertops at least once a year. However, for heavily used surfaces, like those in a busy kitchen or family bathroom, you may need to reseal them every three to six months. Conversely, countertops in a rarely used guest bathroom might only need resealing every few years.

The best type of wood for countertops is hardwood. Hardwood is much more durable and resilient than softwood, so it won’t scratch or dent as easily. Oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and teak are all popular options that are relatively common in North America. Some homeowners prefer to use pine or cedar, but make sure to seal your countertop to help prevent damage. Yellow pine fares better than white pine.

Concrete and granite are both extremely durable materials. One isn’t necessarily better than the other. It depends on what you’re looking for. That said, granite is less costly and requires less maintenance. Furthermore, concrete is more prone to staining and cracking, though you can patch the cracks using a concrete patching compound.

Concrete countertops require regular upkeep to maintain their appearance and durability, and are generally considered harder to maintain than other materials. For daily cleaning, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner and avoid harsh, acidic products that can damage the sealant. It is crucial to wipe up spills immediately, especially from acidic substances, as concrete stains easily. To protect against stains and moisture, the countertops must be resealed periodically—at least once a year, if not more frequently. Additionally, use a cutting board to avoid scratching the surface. Be aware that concrete is also prone to cracking over time, which may require repairs.

Comparing engineered stone vs. natural stone countertops can help you figure out if one is better than the other for you. The answer depends on your preferences, needs, and budget. You might choose engineered stone if you are looking for something more cost effective and low maintenance, but it is hard to beat the beauty of natural stone counters. You may prefer their longer lifespan, the uniqueness of each slab, and their durability.
