"My wife found Nelsen on Home Advisor and I am so happy she did. Nelsen answers his phone every time you call.! Kind of unheard of in this business. I found him and his crew very responsive and detail oriented in removing all the snow on my driveway. I have recommended him to all my neighbors and friends and we could not be any happier. This year we got a ton of snow and I don't know what I would have done without Nelson. Highly recommended!"

"Not what I expected on project to remove ceiling drywall due to beam connected and need extra screws to uphold, overly price extra which I could have negotiated but husband was too quick to agree on, not happy at all. I still fixing up work done and painting. Remove exhaust fan and Door was replaced twice but ok still gap could have fixed with attention to detail. Now I really thinking Nayol was not being 100% honest with me about drylok screws I paid for are missing and different screws left after hard to tell HD they sell wrong screws. I thinking not sure I would hired back for another project if honesty a problem with me. Still I give them 3 stars for Tito works."

"I rarely write a review. But I have to write this one because Dennis has done such a great job on renovation of our driveway and front walkway. I know little about paver driveway and walkway. I am very happy to hire Dennis. He completed the project with high quality, a top notch job! Dennis is a great communicator and responded our questions on a timely manner. Not only did his team consistently show up on time, but he was willing to reschedule the work to accommodate our schedule. The cost of the project is low. Final project turned out great! I highly recommend!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Clearing snow from your roof can be a tedious and time-consuming job. Even so, it is extremely important to maintain your roof during the winter months. You can help prevent ice dams and avoid roof collapse.

As a side note, rather than shoveling your roof, you should always use a roof rake to modify the job. Otherwise, call in a professional.

While removing every snowflake from your roof is unnecessary, you should remove a significant buildup of snow. Since snow is wet and heavy, it can easily cause damage to your roof, which can lead to needing costly repairs.

Additionally, when the snow melts but has nowhere to go and refreezes, it can create an ice dam, causing mold concerns due to water leaking into your attic and ceiling. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a snow removal professional to clear heavy snowfall from your roof as soon as possible.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.

It’s the reverse of home de-winterization. To winterize, you purge your plumbing system (including your water heater and all piping) of water. Some experts also recommend filling fixtures with an antifreeze solution. Other tasks involve winterizing sprinklers, sealing foundation vents, check weatherproofing around doors and windows, and more.

The best way to save money on snow removal is to sign up for a seasonal contract that guarantees service throughout the entire winter. Most companies charge between $200 and $600 for this service, and they’ll often give you a break on the price if you extend annually. Of course, savings will depend on your area. If you live in a moderate climate where snowfall may or may not occur, you could pay more than you need during a light snow year. Still, it’s usually a safe bet to sign a seasonal contract.
