"Joe did an excellent job clearing a major blockage in my kitchen sink drain. It turned out to be a pretty big job, but he took the time to diagnose the problem properly and made sure everything was working correctly before he left. Joe was professional, knowledgeable, dependable, and kept the work area clean. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of his work and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and skilled plumber."

"The men arrived on time. The original assessment was that the interior wall would have to be cut open and wainscoting removed then replaced in order to access the pipes. However they first tried to remove the faucet from the outside wall and were able to do so. The faucet was replaced at minimal cost and in a short period of time. They were very polite and left no mess. I have used Eddie B for several years and will continue to use them in the future. Thanks Eddie B."

"I received exceptional service from 2 Guys Plumbing and heating, marked by technicians who were punctual, courteous, and efficient, effectively addressing all my concerns, which resulted in extreme satisfaction and a high recommendation. We even had them come back to put in new toilets, new pipes in laundry room, add utility sink, and fix outside faucet. Wish I had known about them sooner! "Mike and his team were very knowledgeable, respectful, communicative and reliable. We recently moved into a house built in 1952 and never had to deal with the stress of a wet basement before. After Mike explained why my basement was leaking, it all made sense! They installed a French drain system in one day. I can now breathe easy and not stress out every time it rains! Looking forward to finishing the basement and having a gym! Thank you!"

"We had them do a crawl space encapsulation along with a dehumidifier 2-3 years ago. They did a great job with the initial install, and have continued with excellent follow-up and maintenance calls since then. Great staff, professional approach."

"Excellent all around experience!!!!!!!! After a series of storms and gradual water soaking our basement carpet several times, I finally called Waterproofing One in April, 2017 after seeing their ad several times on our St. Basil's church bulletin. I spoke initially with the owner-Joe who was helpful and he dispatched Dave Cook who came over within an hour. Dave Cook has been in this business and related utility engineering previously for over 30 years and really knows his stuff. Dave was extremely thorough, spending time in the basement, looking at some pictures I took of the damage and spent a considerable amount of time walking around the exterior of my property and reviewing the landscaping where most problems start. Dave wrote up a report of what work was needed including extending downspouts, recommending we have our contractor add a louvered door at the top of the steps for aeration (a great idea given no windows in basement) , waterproofing the well water closet walls, spraying impacted area for potential mold, and installing a new French drain and sump-pump system with battery backup. Gene and his crew then came over on May 17, 2018 and performed the construction and installation work and did a great job. Those guys worked extremely hard in what is inherently a muddy line of work and were very courteous, professional and left the basement very clean. Gene took extra time to show us exactly what they were doing as they drilled holes into the lower cinder block walls, laying of the perforated pipe and some of the damp mold on the wooded studs he extracted at the impacted area. We paid exactly what Dave originally quoted! Dave Cook came back checked on things and made some other recommendations including adding stones around the foundation outside and in holes to avoid soil erosion and soften the acceleration of rain water into the ground. Once the work was finished and our carpenter redid the walls and painting, We had subsequently refinished the basement with high end vapor/mold resistant padding from Mohawk and a quality polyester carpet. 15 months later and here we are on September 30, 2019 after 50+ rain storms since installation and NO WATER nor Mold issues in the basement!!! We are really enjoying our basement again thanks to WATERPROOFING ONE!!!! 5-STARS!!!!!!!!"

"Drytech contacted me about my inquiry for a drain system in my driveway. We set up a date and time. The company called the day before â to confirm the time. The representative arrived on time. We discussed the issues w/ my driveway, and my concerns. After discussions he told me that I probably did not need a drain system. While he did not complete any work for based (because of his honesty) I was impressed with his questions, the time he spent with me and how pleasant he was. He left me his card and informed me what issues to look for."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Water leaking through your basement floor is a good sign of a clogged drain, but another sign of a clogged basement floor drain can include unpleasant odors coming from the drain. Also, hearing gurgling noises when water drains from the basement or having other plumbing fixtures (like toilets or other drains) backing up is a good indicator.

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

A plumber can get to the bottom of your smelly drain and clean it with specialized jets, hoses, and drain-safe cleaning solutions. It is also smart to call in a plumber if you suspect your drain smell is coming from a stubborn clog or even a leaky pipe.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.
